Maaan! It's YOUR channel! If YOU want to put slow-mo segments into YOUR videos then just put them in. If slow-mo offends one person enough to write in and gripe about it then let that one person go and watch the millions and millions of other videos out there on RU-vid. YOU just make YOUR videos the way YOU want to and we'll keep watching them. BTW, this project turned out just beautiful. Keep up the fantastic work and God bless!
the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. ru-vid.comUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
I was actually just ordering some pigments to fix a broken coffee cup with clear JB Weld. Was going to go with the classic Gold but now I'm thinking one of the glow pigments might be cooler!
That is excellent work you’re incredible gifted you know how to miss mix your colors and you know exactly what you’re doing so you’re incredible gifted you do excellent work you keep up the good work you have my boat⭐️👍🫶🙏❤️
Определенно талантливый человек.. Ваза очень красивая, особенно с зелёным свечением❤❤❤ и мне нравится, что вы делаете красивые вещи из неказистого куска древесины. Интересно, где вы берете материал, в лесу или покупаете..
I don't know what's more impressive - the finished piece or your incredible tooling collection! Your content just keeps getting better & this one really blew me away....
My son (8 yo) and I watch your videos all the time, usually before bed. He loves them so much and enjoys that they are a “mystery” until the end as to what you are making… he says he really loved the glow in the dark creation. Thank you!
@@DavidAdamsen I would like to ask, what the name of that tool and attachment is, where you cut that large section (blank) out of the middle of the bowl. THAT is a really cool piece of tooling, and I am glad that someone makes such things. Saves you time, and gives you a smaller blank to turn into something, from the same piece. Nice!!
I’m a professional woodworker I can build anything from wood but turning is a different story. This stuff I always find fascinating and entertaining. Keep up the great work
@@DavidAdamsen You are amazing at what you do with a chunk of wood, this makes the 3rd video I've watched & I have to say your 1 of a kind in my book, ❤
Jaw dropping video friend bug u gave probably heard it before. I didn’t know though that there are these super duper poxy resins that are as hard as glass WOW! 👍😀
Ugly? You couldn't make ugly if you tried! This is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I am more amazed at each video. You truly are a master at this! And what some don't realize is that every single piece is a one of a kind!!!❤❤❤
Awwww WOW that looks like a huge rare opal. I love the ultra violet effects. You're such an Exceptional Artist right down to the tiniest details. It's sometimes hard to find words for not only your work, but the filming & presentation. I could watch all your stuff all night long & never get board. Thankyou for making the world a more Beautiful place.
I was impressed to see just how little was wasted from this huge burl, you utilized pretty much all of it. I think this is one of my favourite creations that you've come up with.
David Adamsen, this is one of the most insanely cool pieces of art I’ve seen! 🤤 … If I had the money for a piece like this, I’d buy it on the spot … must have been a small fortune in epoxy alone, the carefree way you apply the colours and the precision of your work is a testament to a true master of his craft, talent and creativity… the finished product is absolutely astonishing!
Forget that dude who didn’t like slow motion. 🙄 that was as cool as heck. The music went perfect for the design of the artwork you made. So much wrk goes not only in the wood turning but your video and editing. Thank you. Love it. Most beautiful wrk out there.
So awesome!! AND, you saved the core! I'm so impressed!!!❤ It makes so much sense to save that and make more instead of wasting it in pieces on the floor!🎉🎉 I hope more people follow your example. Your production of this video is so awesome!!
Thanks Wilbur, yes quite a bit of off-camera work went into this. I probably only filmed a third of the work and then edited down about 8-9 hours of footage down to 17 minutes.
Glad I read through the comments. Those details are most interesting. It would be very cool to know such details about every piece you create. Stunningly beautiful. The work, time & creativity you invest is prodigious...I was curious if you FEEL intensely positive...emotions as you work? I ask because my favourite definition of "High/Fine Art" is, simply, "That which makes those who view it feel INTENSE emotion." Further to that, I believe for emotion to be FELT at that point, the work itself was imbued with emotion during the creative process. Be it a song or a voice making the hair on the nape of my neck stand up...or a dance routine which transports me to a state of awe...or a work of Art...I love beauty and the FEELING I get gazing at a VIDEO*¹ of your finished piece is...indescribable. *As tech invariably REDUCES the emotional resonance of a piece: in that the intensity of emotion FELT BY one who views, say, an image in a video...or a photograph on a screen...or a poster...a high quality limited edition proof...an artist's proof...culminating with the ORIGIONAL...that emotion ratchets up in intensity as the veils of technology are removed. To see your finished work in the "fibre" must be incredible. I hope ~ but doubt ~ you arranged a voice or video call such that you could enjoy your client's reaction when they FIRST saw the result of their commission. I REALLY enjoy seeing (or hearing) the emotional reaction to my work...and the artists i support get a kick out of my reactions.
To start, this piece is breathtaking! So creative! 2nd... the video is like feature film! From the slow-mo to the music it's ART! Anyone who doesn't realize that can get bent! ❤️
Turning something out of nothing. Great work and really beautiful. You have good vision and imagination to see the object before it is made. As a retired machinist, I can appreciate your craftsmanship.
I especially love the organic way you enhance the beauty of the wood. The pieces are always so intriguing! Like Michelangelo, you take away what does not belong, and leave only the art you foresaw. How DO you clean up all the scraps and ribbons.
Love how you can take a huge chunk of burl, cut it up, glue it up, add epoxy and colors and make it something incredibly unique. The vision you have is awesome and so much fun to watch you coax it out of the wood. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome!!! I wish I had this level of talent and creativity. Even watching how it’s been made makes me feel so good and enjoy a lot. It was GREAT!!!Thanks for sharing.
I love the “drama” of slow motion. Considering The Slow Mo Guys have 14.5M subs I’m guessing other people do too. This piece is incredible, the glowing cracks and tinted epoxy are beautiful together. The rootball is gorgeous and all of it combined is absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for sharing all of your hard work, heavy lifting and enormous talent with all of us!
Wow ! What a craftsman and artist you are. That’s the second one I’ve watched and I’m hooked. It got me thinking about the fact that digital artists, those expert in computer graphics are possibly thought of as at the cutting edge of creating beautiful or unusual images, but seeing your films it shows that the ancient crafts, the timeless crafts such as working with wood are so much more beautiful. The way the natural object changes and evolves in the hands of the craftsman is mesmeric and deeply satisfying at a gut level. That certainly brightened up this rainy Sunday on the West Coast of Scotland 😊
As a power-carver and fellow woodworker, all I can say is that I am incredibly impressed with your work in general, and your work here specifically. In power-carving, if I screw up I simply keep going because you never know how mistakes become advantageous later. Not that it matters, but I am proud of you for sticking with this one and hanging in there till the end instead of giving up and moving on. I literally just put my lathe together Sunday, and haven’t even used it yet. Partly because I want to watch more videos before hand, and partly out of confusion of where to start. Watching you gives me something to strive towards. I am not interested in selling, but I AM interested in making beautiful things for my wife, and maybe a few family members, if they’re lucky, 😂. Thank you very much for allowing us to view your process. Sincerely, John
Thanks John! I appreciate your comment! I really try not to give up, and you’re absolutely right, the mistakes and mishaps are opportunities for something better. You are definitely on the right track with watching RU-vid to get started in woodturning. That’s how I learned and there are so many wonderful and talented craftsmen and artists on this platform. There’s always more to learn, but I really hope you enjoy getting into it yourself!
This has got to be one of the cool things I've ever seen. YOU FREAKIN NAILED IT. I kinda wish we could see more of the finished piece at the end, I just couldn't get enough of it lol. Badazz job bro. It almost looked like fossilized amber in some spots, and the neon colors set it off. So freakin awesome, one of the best ones I've seen anyone make yet. I like to see you do a planet/galaxy/universe type piece now lol. I just can't say enough about this one, it definitely deserves more views. I've been a sub for a while, and had to catch up on some of your pieces. It's more fun to binge watch what I've missed lol. Very cool
Wonderful burl and then your choices of epoxy colours and fluorescence made a uniquely fantabulous bowl. Even the shape of the piece adds to the craftmanship. Thank you for sharing.
It’s great to see someone that fucks it up as often as I do and still makes something incredibly beautiful. Thank you for motivating me to keep learning.
Hats off to your hard work man... The results are just outstanding... What a finishing... Once in a month video is worth it...I wish I could buy this art but unfortunately I can't 😺👻.... Keep it up bro...💖 from India 🇮🇳
Would you please make more like this? Where you apply a different/vibrant color or epoxy on the natural edges first. This piece was so awesome, I didn't realize I'd had already watched this the other day until I got halfway. You're awesome, your work inspires me to stay sober so I can one day get into woodworking.
This is by Far HANDS Down thee best use of different materials and color scheme I have Ever had the Extreme Pleasure watching come together. BRAVO Sir👏
So cool that you were able to reincorporate a number of the pieces you had trimmed off ... you have created a stunning piece!! Oh, and since these are YOUR videos, include what you YOU want, and if people don't like it, they can look at something else
Easily one of the wildest things I've ever seen come off a lathe. It has been a pure joy watching your skills grow over the last couple of years. ( I subbed after seeing your yellow birch pedestal bowl. I think you were in the 1K range at the time.) And not just your turning skills, but your videography as well. Although, I have to admit that the slow mo always makes me a bit nervous as well.
You are truly a master craftsman and artist extraordinaire! This was the most amazing process and end result I’ve ever seen! Cinematography pretty amazing too!
That has to be so gratifying after putting in so much work. It's probably the most beautiful woodworking I've seen. I really appreciated that you used the wood that you cut off in the beginning. Manzanita is so beautiful and I don't think it's used enough in woodworking. It grows all over Northern CA, where I'm from. Hope you got a pretty penny for it. And slow-mo is awesome and the cinematography, especially at the end, is incredible. I suspect you might be a perfectionist, lol.
OMG I literally had to make myself close my gaping jaw! The removal of the inside guts of your bowl blew my mind! Now onto the bowl itself. Astonishing! Unbelievable! You put a lot of yourself into this project! I love it!! I wonder what the final weight was.
OMG again and again every time I look at this I see more and more detail. Woohoo unbelievable David looks bloody outstanding. 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅.Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
I truly believe that is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen in all of my years. Right up there with the pretty smile from a beautiful lady or a tropical reef while scuba diving, or the crystal blue of a fracturing glacier. So well done! It reminds me of the setting sun behind an erupting volcano. Whoa! The UV look is so contrastingly amazing also! I would love to see how this will be displayed by its owner. I hope that many eyes, minds, and hearts are able to see and appreciate this. It (it? needs a name....Volcanic Abyss?, Setting Plume?, End of Days?, Crucible of Time"?, Birth and Destruction? Mother's Stew? ....heh I can come with so many more ) and you deserve the highest levels of praise. Anyone that doesn't think so may really be a baboon. just sayin'
Космически прекрасный объект искусства, очень сложный исходный материал, продуманный сценарий и потрясающий монтаж! Маэстро, вы великолепны 😊 Я видела много похожих видео, но ваш ролик самый лучший 💯 Спасибо!
This is simply glorious! I mean the artistry, craftsmanship, the creativity and resourcefulness... Not to mention the video is stunningly filmed. I know nothing about woodturning, am just a graphic artist but boy, do i appreciate all that I've seen here! Thank you for making such quality content!
Dear David, you're the greatest! My son, 47, has been watching your videos, me too, & you are an absolute gifted, blessed master! We watch on utube at night, so we can't click on it, so I'm doing that now. Thank-you so very much. ❤
David, you are most definitely a master craftsman. Your videos are great, and your skills are greater. In my opinion, if myself and others don't intrigue on your business, we'd have to think twice. It's surely damn hard to place a price on these pieces, seeing the dedication of work you put into it. They look like they'll last a lifetime. Blessings to you and yours.
Dude! Your killing me, each piece is more beautiful than the next! And I loved the special effects at the end. I've scheduled you in for a binge watch this weekend. Me, a couple glasses of Chardonay and your videos.
I've been binge-watching all these wood-turning videos on different RU-vid channels for the last few days. I just find them satisfying to watch. No narration, no video graphics, just hands creating masterpieces.
Im a new subscriber, ive always been fascinated by artists who have the talent to work with wood, especially the odd chunks that you can just look at and see something in them. My Mom , sister and I are artistic in different ways, but my sister carves small creatures out of odd pieces of wood that she sees owls, snakes , and other things in. And she sells them for amazing amounts of money.
😲😲😲 Wow! That is absolutely stunning!!! Also about the comment where someone said stop with the slow motion. It's your channel. You put what you want. You got a new subscriber here
Love the slow motion. Haven’t done lathe work since high school and it brought the impact of the rough turning on the hands and arms right back. It’s good to show how physical this is. Also caused some anxiety as I was worried your chisel was going to catch and flip . Our shop room had a huge gauge in the chalkboard across the shop from the lathe stations from a flipped chisel. It was the first lesson in the lathe training!
When you started this project, i thought this was going to be the ugliest thing youve ever made but your ingenuity and vision made this a stunning piece of art! Simply amazing! Gorgeous piece, looking forward to seeing more of your work.
I was right there with you. Almost stopped watching, but had to finish to see how it turned out (expecting a garbage can). Turned out amazing. Great work!
I personally love the slow mo .. It gives the content suspense . You keep doing you, and if people don't like it, don't let the door hit them on the way out
Your work and how you present it in your videos is amazing to say the least. Thank you for making it available to us and to allow us to appreciate the work and skill that goes into the beautiful pieces you create. All respect out to you 🙏
Every time I watch your videos I say to myself this is the most beautiful piece I have ever seen. Then you up your game. WOW! You are an awesome artist!
Just being able to make this is absolutely spectacular. But filming it too!? Man I know how that can 10X more work, but I'm a complete amateur compared to your turning / filming / editing skills! I can tell you must really love what you do! Congrats to the success of your channel. You deserve it!
I audibly gasped when I saw what it was going to be Like a CAULDRON? You mad genius Piece turned absolutely stunning, best work with Epoxy I've seen to date, so creative with the colors and turning that giant hunk of gnarly wood straight out of a horror movie into this beautiful piece, and with all of the epoxy and resin you still managed to highlight the beauty of the natural grain and chatoyancy, absolute master at your craft Well done, well done is an understatement!
As I watch your marvelous how-i-did- this-very-complicated-project show, I was continuously amazed by how, just when it seemed impossible for the project NOT to be finished, there was one or more steps to be done, one or more wild products to be used, more complex drills/ shavers/scrapers to be used. I am a mixed media artist, which as you well know is just fancy ass way to say "I may use a button, a piece of millefiore, a fabulously piece of material run through my pasta maker or some crazy thing I find on the sidewalk or the street.. Lots of options. I am amazed & impressed by your work. I learned a lot from watching you. Going to get me some Table Top epoxy. I had a slightly unnerving experience with how hot it gets...BUT thank you so very much and please ignore that person who posted that you should stop your slow motion bits. I love them. Bye for now.
What can I say that hasn’t been said? That is pretty cool. I am always amazed at the new things people are trying on their wood lathes, but this is the best I have seen yet. You even managed to save the center for a small bowl. I love it!
Breath taking!! You are an amazing artist. How did you learn to do this? Where do you get those alien looking pieces of wood? Your equipment is a work of art and probably costs a fortune!! Good luck to you and I am sure your pieces will be in museums all over the world!
"You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.” - George Bernard Shaw Thank you for sharing your beauty within with us! Happy Christmas !!
