I think it’s great that Mel Blank who played the postman went on to become the unrivaled cartoon voice king and provided us so much entertainment as we grew up as kids in my age group. Also I miss Gracie Allen and thank her for the entertainment she provided while she was with us and I’m sad that she went so young. God bless you Gracie.

George Burns when i was growing up was one of my heros. Keep in mind i was born in 1971. Well past his prime and after Gracie left us. Seeing George talk about her and how he stayed faithful to the day he passed stole my heart! THAT was love! I have always hoped to experience love the way those two did. They broke the mold with those two! Comedy isnt the same. Love songs arent the same. And LOVE itself isnt the same. I truly loved the innocence of it back then. (Yes I know the darker side) But love was truly love back then. Still miss George and those stoggies he always had. Always looked forward and hoped he was on the Muppet Show!! Thanks for the fond memories!!

Brilliant from beginning to end. A side note: On the Columbia recording of Sunday Monday and Always, it's just Frank and a choir because of the musician's strike at the time. This is the first time I've heard this song with full orchestration.

Did you know that Gracie was originally supposed to be the straight woman? The married team is amazing! One of my favorites. The duo first teamed up in 1923 following the break up of George’s partnership with straight man Billy Lorraine. Burns later recalled… “ they laughed when she asked the questions and didn’t laugh when I gave the punchline, so I gave her all the jokes.”

Who played the postman? The voice sounds familiar. He was cracking me up!

Yes indeed, Mel Blanc was the voice of the postman. He reprised the voice for the Easter Bunny in the Bugs Bunny cartoon "Easter Yeggs": "Remember, keep smiling."
