In this video, we look at the classic Bush TR130 series of radios, by looking at some of the radios in my own collection. Originally designed by Tom Karen of Ogle Design in the UK, who also designed the iconic Raleigh Chopper. The first radio was introduced in 1965, a classic design aimed at the teenage market in the mid-1960s. The last original Bush radio of this design was produced in 1974. We also look at a replica version dating to 2002.

@6643bear Hi Mark, thank you for watching and good to know you have a couple of these great little radios. The original sets have a good sound, a shame MW has lost so many channels. The reproduction TR130 is good too. I think they made a great job of it. Goodmans made a DAB copy named Oxford, I forgot to mention that one. Cheers

Hi , I remember, also I think the later tr130 am sure the antenna for rm on it might be the mains lead , but as you know the early 130 were very heavy compared to the later ones, abd had nice chrome work and as you know they were sprayed plastic, as you mentioned on another message very few mw stations are on now and if couse lw . Regards mark

Hi Mark, I believe they put the FM aerial inside to make it look similar to the original TR130 AM set. The downside to this. is the signal can be weak, not having a telescopic aerial. I agree the original is very heavy in comparison, and much better made, with better sound quality. Sadly, not much use as a radio these days. where the replica can still receive FM. The design of the original is bang on, very functional, and looks great with all the real chrome on metal. Cheers
