Loose the joystick is 30 Euro. I don't consider hat very cheap for an item like this. Remember there's also Alisexpress. And I agree: throw away the joystick that comes w/ the Maxi or Mini: it's too stiff to use.
I own the TheVic20 version, exactly the same as the TheC64 but in a limited edition Vic 20 case. I also have the A500 mini and use the mouse for some games like Arkanoid, and utilities like the ultimate cartridge and GEOS etc.
i dont know if you watch Retro Recipies on youtube but they do a news show sorta thing that showcases fan made stuff. a recent episode showed off someone on youtube made a retro controller adaptor, and they added ABC and menu buttons using C64 keys that you can plug original joysticks into, so you dont lose the button access, i want to do something like that also just because its so much more convenient
Joystick on mine stuck in the backwards position first day I got it (2020 just before lockdown). I reported it to Amazon and they reimbursed me the price of a replacement joystick. The replacement I bought (exact same joystick) works fine to this day....I was also able to use a USB competition pro joystick I'd bought a decade earlier with a C64 emulator DVD. However, I've had issues trying to use other USB joysticks I have (even with latest firmware). But not a problem as the main joystick works fine.
Swapping joystick ports - I'll never understand why designers feel the need to use two separate buttons/options to select between only two things. Just use one button/option and have it toggle them. I could see if there were three or more ports, but there's only two. If it's plugged into port one, port two is the only one you can possibly switch it to, and vice-versa.
Agree that I do not want to risk killing my original hardware. I use a iNNext game pad because my Trooper 2 is not recognized. I wonder if any new updates to the firmware are being worked on?
I have not seen a way to do that but that would be awesome if you could. What I have done is use Geos in an emulator and I am able to print that way to a PDF file and then transfer that file over to my modern day computer and print it out on the printer. I’ve also used that method to print with print shop and non-Geos applications as well.
hi! could you make tutorial to play the Doom version for commodore 64 that uses REUS with 64 MB? I'm actually so lost but with your videos I'm discovering a lot of things that I can do, but I'm still a noob u.u
5:41 yes its like who cares what iphone have if they give usb cable with "their connection" and other end usbA yes everyone usabA. not even nerds had usbc when phones came usbc bcoz therte was no charger !!!! what they wanted safe nature and make smaller packaking end up everyone need buy charger its more packaking cost LOL. only need is cable that other end is COMMON and problem would be solved. no need charger it would charge from usbA slowly. no it have to be usbc-usbc so you need charger or damn adapter to plug it usbA. got it yet? lol
This consol sucks deep down in hell i regret throwing money out on buying one. It doesent remember attatched cartrigdes and disk. Setting this thing up is a jungle of weird abriviations and codes and files you must put on the USBdrive - almost like learning a new small programming language. as for my c64 maxi i threw it in the trash its close to worthless if you're expecting to be working on an old time C64 because of the unbelieveable amount of settings that must be set in complicated ways. This thing is anything but userfriendly. Very very disapointed that we have to study a bloody manual just to do simple things like change joystickport or remember which cartridge is inserted. Total crap might aswell just stick to the VICE emlator or get a real 64 this is FAR from a real c64 let me tell you
