The discipline in the pitch of their voices on notes. Whoever taught these ladies is on point. Still the best rendition of the national anthem and its 2019. The melody and harmonization my goodness.
I call it, a "jump octave." Pretty sure the lead singer in the middle, Baylee, hit that. At first, thought the little peanut on the far right did; but she was already singing the 5th, and too high ... the octave was off of the melody, not the harmony.
I would agree with only one exception. I saw this video years ago and it's always been my favorite. Superbowl 34 featuring Faith Hill. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eUDJyoij5E4.html
Not 80 here; but around 50 (born in Spain)....and never liked the Amerikan custom of use the mercenary hollywood hordes for something as serious as the national Anthem ...rather listen to an every day Joe/Jane sing it perhaps not as flashy, but with his /her heart in his /her hand, than to some famous BSer who charges abundle and don't give a fuck! These girls are ....TOPS!!
The harmony that begins about 0:50 is special, particularly for these voices. I would put this performance in my top five choices, and I have listened to many many different performances of the SSB.
I play it every night before I shut down my computer for the night, just like old (pre cable) days when TV stations signed off for the night! Proud be an American!
This reminds me of how lucky we are to live in freedom..in a free country...freedom was paid for on the battlefield. Thank you Cactus Cuties, for reminding us that our freedom was paid for, by many who stood up for it, and fought to keep it for all of us.
THE best version of The Star Spangled Banner I have ever heard. These precious Cuties are not only dead on each note and on their timing, they are absolutely adorable to watch. I love it when the little peanut on the far right (who nails all those high harmony parts) is about to do her thing, and her bigger mic mate backs up a bit, because she knows she's about to be blasted! What a great country this is, that produces wonderful wonderment such as this. I am so thankful this was recorded for me and others to awe over, over and over again. Thank you.
I can’t tell you HOW many times I’ve watched this video. What I will tell you is that each and every time she hits that high note towards the end. I get chills.
I come to this link ever so often . I did tonight . Each time it tugs my heart . It's perfect and these girls are special ! God bless them and God bless America
Performances like this come around only once in a lifetime. When I get to close down our radio station for the night, this is the last song I always play.
Congratulations to Cami Caldwell for your superb coaching of these sweethearts. It is, most importantly, our National anthem and should be presented this way (with a minimum of embellishments), and the diction was absolutely perfect.
Beautiful. Served with USMC infrantry in first Gulf War, brought me to tears, first time in 25 yrs. Sorry, I'm a different breed. These girls made my day.
After all the controversy over pro ball players protesting the National Anthem...I come back back here to se how It should be done. Five little girls stunned an audience of Roddy college kids and alumni into silence for an incredible rendition of our anthem. At the end the crowd erupted into a huge cheer!
This brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. This country is great you girls are great. I hope and pray every day that freedom reigns in these United States of America. Thank you girls you are what America is all about in its simplest form. I served my country proudly and you do to.
Whether you're walking, running, stumbling or crawingl through life, there are always moments of grace you never forget. Hearing this the first time, many moons ago will always be one of those moments.
These ladies should sing at the Super Bowl! My grandfather served in the Phillipines during World War II, and later in the Korean Conflict. I love that flag, and our national anthem, it was paid for with a price, and the result was freedom for all of us. God bless you ladies, you sing this song with the honor it earned, at Fort McHenry.
A tear jerker for me everytime I hear it but I also love the respect that the crowd gave them, and the national anthem, by not getting rowdy with applause too early. They waited until the end. You don't see that too often. God bless these young girls and our country!
I heard this for the first time 2 days ago (Feb 17, 2013) and I cannot even guess at how many times I have watched/listened to it since then. This is the most impressive performance of our national anthem I have ever heard. A Naval fly-by is in order, not for the game, but for the girls...think I'll watch it again. This time with 2 hats so I can take off one for the heroes of the American Revolution, and one for the revolutionary Cactus Cuties.
@@oakvillecenter904 It is now December 31, 1918 and I am STILL coming back to listen! God bless these voices AND the parents and teachers who inspired and taught them that to love one's country you must RESPECT it. These wonderful voices did just that and I am so proud of both them and my country!
It has been 11 years and I still find myself back here on occasion to listen to this fantastic rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Well done ladies!
"And the home of the brave". I will never, EVER be able to get the way they sing that line out of my head. The twang on the word "home" coupled with that particular harmony just sings so damn well. Raw talent, sure do miss these ladies performing
This is just awesome..! The quality of those voices in that setting rings of a purity one rarely gets to witness, even among the professionals. Thanks again for this wonderful tribute..!
1:08 "That our Flag was STILL THERE". I always get shivers. Not just from the beautiful harmony, but from the image of strength, fortitude, and the symbol of freedom from the yoke of tyranny evoked by the image of a tattered flag still waving after the battle.
Let it always be so sung and so reversed. Outstanding rendition. Did anyone else notice the reverence the entire crowd had. No whistles or jeers until the very last note. Thank you to whoever posted this.
Agreed, however I am grateful that the crowd held off until the very end to cheer. I don't ever recall fans holding back from cheering in settings like that, if nothing else out of excitement for the game to start. The only explanation I can come up with is that the crowd was spellbound... and rightly so.
A YT search of "National Anthem" still places this as THE most relevant!! Pure genious by Terri Caldwell and executed to perfection by these girls through the teaching of Terri and Cami Caldwell. You all won the Superbowl three years ago!!!!
I've watched this probably over a 100 times. All I can say is that their coach should try and do this again! She was listening for all the right sounds and all five of these girls did an amazing job together because of her!
I have been a singer all of my life,"37 years" and have never heard the Star Spangled Banner sung like that!!!!! Please contact NASCAR and get them to let the girls come to Talladega . I can honestly say that I don't believe it can be done any more PERFECT !!!! Thanks for the pleasure of letting me listen... Keep up the great work girls!!!!!!
Wow, that was incredible! I remember singing this song a million times when I was their age up until high school (for a chorus group). However, for their age they definitely sang it much better they were on point.
I have never heard the National Anthem sung as well as these girls have done. It brings tears to my eyes, each time I play this video. And the audience is just in awe listening to them. They can't believe the amazing voices of these girls. I wish that I could have been there to hear them in person. They have set the standard for the best singers of the National Anthem.
I love how the little one on the right backs up off the mic at one point. She's got to cause she's belting out her part. That's serious mic control right there! Whew! Been watching this video for a couple of years now and it still gives me chills.
