The Caddo tribe, who lived in Northeast Texas as well as Oklahoma and Arkansas, had a sophisticated farming, mound building culture. Their trade network covered much of what became the United States and Mexico. The Caddo flourished for centuries, though the footprint of these important indigenous people is a light one in modern Texas.

It's my life's ambition to be rich enough to buy large swathes of land in East Texas and donate them to the caddo lol 🙏

That's not funny. That would be nice of you. However, there are not full-blooded CADDO left. They're all mixed now with either White or Black blood. It's unfortunate that they didn't survive intact.

@@wshggg not in East Texas. They got shipped off to Oklahoma, but the caddo mounds are in Texas.

You know there are mounds all through the woods of east Texas that will never be found or are already destroyed by construction or erosion

@@BORN-to-Runyou are talking like we are animals. Every Caddo descendent are very much human. There are plenty of us still around, both in Texas and Louisiana.

No, it isn't the Caddo saved Indian Country see Treaty of 1835 etc

nope, they were forced to move to Indian territory by the second president of the Texas Republic, Mirabeau Lamar. He advocated for the genocide of the remaining indians in texas.
