I just love those drone shots, especially of the corrie. It looked really wild. The opening piece to camera with the midges just made my skin crawl, I wouldn't have been hanging around. The bike certainly brings a different dimension to these hills, well done on staying rubber side down!
Great to see the new bike earning it's keep us the munros Murray 🚵♂️👍. We think you are more capable on a mountain bike than you give yourself credit for. Never ceases to amaze us how quickly the weather rolls in in Scotland. You got the best of those views before it did though. Another brilliant adventure, thanks for sharing it with us. All the best, Shell and Pete😊👊👍
Cracking trip as always Murray. Love the idea of getting the bike to the summit. You always take the editing to another level. The standard 👏👏 ATVB Robert
All credit to you Murray. Awesome trip and speedy. Always recall my young spaniel got bitten by an adder on that munro. Kinda spoilt the expedition a bit. Great views. Big country
Murry, good video. As someone who has done a bit of mountain biking all credit to you. Never cycled a Munro.....have gone someway toward....but then hiked.....Use road and touring bike now. Have cycled toured/camped in parts of Europe and the UK....fabulous way to get about. Thanks for sharing.
Another excellent video thanks Murray. I loved the beautiful scenery. I bet coming down was a lot easier than going up.(Providing your brakes didn't fail.) Entertaining as always.
Another great outing, Murray. Pretty cool to have taken your bike the whole way. That view down to the lochen was the stuff of dreams! Thanks yet again! Cheers, and ATB!
Beautiful forest to ride through Murray and that’s before the climbing to the top. Amazing that you could ride all the way to the top. Think this has to be on my bucket list to do. Brilliant stuff. Thanks as always Murray
Was up that path a few weeks ago on my bike Murray. Got up to the ridge and discovered I'd lost my phone 🤦. So about turned and found it down at the wee wooded section. I'll need to go back and do it again. Enjoyed this video .
Hi Murray, brilliant as always, those forests are beautiful. Typical British summer weather comes out to play again . At least you did get a lot of views and it wasn’t all in the clag. As you said in the video, those coires were bloody spectacular and the lochans too. All the best mate, hers hoping that we can still get some decent sunny days before the winter really sets in. 😀🥾⛰🚴🏴
fingers crossed - but I have been really lucky over the last two weekends and caught some amazing weather in amazing locations - cannot wait to share those videos when I finally get round to editing them :) Thanks for watching Murray
This was a nice reminder of our hike up there in May this year. Lots and lots of mountain bikers that day we done it, probably the most I've ever seen on the munros! That Coire was definitely the highlight. It annoys me that I never done the circuit over to Beinn Avon but weather wasn't the best, a good excuse to go back up to the Linn of Dee for Beinn Avon I guess. Smashing as always Murray cheers.
Just gotta start out by saying wow at the view of the trail at the beginning. My gosh! Then you've got the tops of the trees at 1:44, it really does make you marvel at the beauty of it. Attack of the nasty wee demons, I mean really they're relentless. The views were absolutely gorgeous throughout (5:37, 10:42). It's amazing how fast the weather can change, of course you know what I'm gonna say, I'm envious of the cold...although have to admit not towards the end, that looked extremely uncomfortable. Glad you decided to try this since you got a new bike, my husband David and I love going trail riding. Would love to try it there, would certainly be a difference from here in Texas. Oh, and great t-shirt! Thanks Murray for another fantastic vid and using the drone 👋
Thank you Murray, epic beautiful views of Scotland as always. I noticed that the pork pies did not appear, its no surprise, I would not have come out to bask in the glory of the Scotch Egg either...glad your brakes worked ok this time. I remember your Ben Wyvis video :) that was a long, long time ago, one of the first ones I ever watched :) because I loved mountains bikes back then too. still do, will get another one day...the wind/rain looked a tad harsh...
Thanks John - only on occasion do the pork pies get ahead of scotch eggs in the pecking order 😂😂 such a nice area - I have a few videos from the cairngorms coming up so how you enjoy them (the bike makes a massive difference in getting in and out of these ones for sure :) Thanks for watching Murray
I'm beginning to wonder what your going to come up with next. Cycling to the summit I have to admire your stamina Murray. Scenery breathtaking as always made me itch thinking about the midges you encountered don't you just love the little dears. Looked a bit risky on your way down with the wind blowing a gale so glad you made it back safely. Where would you be without your scotch eggs. ATB and can't wait for the next one.
Thanks Julie - would love to say I cycled all the way to the summit but there was alot of pushing the bike uphill lol - might need to get one of those e bike!!lol Thanks for watching Murray
This reminds me of my ascent of Ben Avon next door. I cycled up as far as I could then dumped the bike in the heather. The views of Beinn a Buird were excellent. Bill
Wow super video Murray, The bike did well, glad youre enjoying itvon the hills. Amazing views and the heather was so lovely this year. Thanks for taking us along........Alioban ❤
Thanks - yeah - agreed the heather was special this year - so vibrant - got a few more videos from August where it looks amazing :) (just takes me a while to edit the videos 😂
Don't worry about not going too fast, you outbiked the midges, didn't you LOL. Thanks for braving the wx for us and I am thin but if I exercised as much as you, well, I'd disappear altogether. Cheers and thanks for taking us along.😊
Loved your latest video Murray. I went up that way on foot two summers ago. I then looped round to Ben Avon and back down from the Sneck. Defo not a way you’d want to take a MTB. The route down from the south top is also not for the faint hearted mountain bike rider. 🤣
Great wee video as always 👍. Met Mctrail Rider a few years ago at Glentress nice guy 👍 . Sgór Gaoith looks like another cracking one to bike. Always meant to do it but just recently sold my mountain bike. First time in about 30 years I haven't owned a bike 😮.
Been planning that ride for a year or two now and maybe Ben A'an too. Haven't got the skills of Mctrail rider but that looked fun apart from the wind. Maybe next Spring.
Great video Murray, you have my respect, i listen and take in all your mountaineering advise as I’m a keen hiker myself. I’m planning a 400mile trip to fort William on 16 sept for the week as I’m hoping to hike up Ben Nevis, my question is: do you have any advise for me regarding the time of year/weather and kit to be considered. Kind regards. James
Hi James - depends on the conditions - it’s been snowing up on the Ben for the last few days ! Just transient tho - I would take warm clothes tho ! Good luck Murray
@ScotlandsMountains Ach! I missed it this year, my daughter was expecting, so I couldn't get up! I'll note the timing for next year :) I'll be up soon, just as well I love the autumn colours too! Thank you!
