The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) AK-47 Vs Real Life (4K/60FPS)

A comparison and between the AK-47 in the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and its real-life counterpart. I go into some historical detail about the AK's developmental history as well.
The AK used for the semi-auto footage (starting at 5:08) is a NPAPM70, their newest commercial AK. It is semi-auto only, of course. It's basically a civilian-legal variant of the Yugoslavian M70 AK copies manufactured here in the United States. Build quality is pretty solid and the controls are smooth enough. I also like the Yugo-style bolt hold-open magazine It's a pretty okay gun, but I prefer the SKS all things considered. Footage is in 4K at 60 frames per second.
For the full-auto footage I used what I believe is a Romanian md. 63; I got the opportunity to fire one at Lone Star Gun Range near San Antonio, Texas a few years ago. I do not own or otherwise possess it or any other full-auto. Very fun gun to use, but it will thrash you around like a little bitch on full-auto if you let it. Segment starts of at 8:28.

My grandfather fought in ww2 from the red army. He had a story that he told us. He said he'd never been prouder than on the day they found out the Soviet Union had triumphed, and that communism prevailed. Luckily he died before the Union dissolved, I couldn't imagine him seeing his homeland fall. Good video, greetings from Moldova :)

It was a pretty awesome day for history considering how close the Soviet Union was to falling in early 1942. Pretty amazing that they pushed the Germans roughly 1,700 kilometers back to Berlin. Fuck Nazis and everything they stand for.

I think AK isn't bad as i think when i was young.i watch many movies and almost every movie AK is the bad guy's gun but when i studied about it I very proud in AK-47 and another variants the AK legend will never been forgotten.

Yeah while the Soviet Union and its client states weren't perfect, overall I don't think it's fair to say that actually objectively more evil than the West. The West certainly has a higher body count overall and its use of stuff like Agent Orange and staging massive coups for dictators was pretty questionable morally. I think it's a shame that the Soviet Union no longer acts as an ideological counterbalance to the West. The East had a poor human rights and freedom record but at least they took care of their people's basic needs, like healthcare, job security, and food. The AK like any other weapon was a tool used to prop up a worldview, and what it accomplished covers the whole spectrum morally. I think its finest hours were used to defeat colonialism, in Vietnam, South America and Africa. The AK gave people the right to self-determination, and that's pretty badass.

The AK in COD is a 47, then the real life one is an AKM. an original 1949 AK47 would cost around $3000-4000 a piece, plus a full auto license.

An original AK in full auto costs far more than $3,000. Like 25 times more at minimum.

The AK is so individualistic in what it stands for. it's so vast and various that to say it singularly represents something, you take away the other 90% of who used it and what for. its not the right hand of the communists nor a freedom fighters weapon. The AK is a pen and each person writes their meaning with it.

You used an AKM, not an AK-47.

The term AK-47 isn't even correct at all for 99% of AKs, but that's what people who don't know better famously refer to it as. Technically, I'm using a ZPAPM70, a commercial Serbian variant of the AKM. But it's still an AK.

I mean we can't really have alot of recoil in the game bro. It would make the AK trash...it's a decent weapon in modern warfare

I agree, I mean this is Call of Duty after all. It's not intended to be super-realsitic. The AK is pretty good in this game for an early weapon.

@@geoechidna i mean i agree cod isnt realistic but this one is way more realistic than any other Cod ive played tbh. Its a great game in my opinion. But you should do a video reviewing all the guns from modern warfare but the real guns lol

I can't be the only one who gets peeved at companies calling an AKM the AK-47. The difference is relatively clear in the game as it is irl

I guess it is a bit annoying, but it’s not really that big a deal imo. Most people don’t use the term “AKM”, and virtually only the gun community are the ones who know better. The only time I’ve ever seen an AKM-pattern rifle named as such in a piece of media was for the Metal Gear Solid 3 demo from 2004. And they changed the name to “AK-47” for the full game. Haven’t seen it called that before or since.

Not anymore sadly, but I’d like to buy another AK later this year. Might drop the big bucks on a 5.45 Russian one, but not sure yet.

Close, it’s a ZPAPM70, a commercial AK made by Zastava USA. It’s still very much an “AK” pattern rifle, so the picture isn’t terribly misleading. It’s basically an AKM. Genuine Russian AKs are unfortunately very rare and very expensive even in the United States.

It’s due to the Russian import ban, which also applies to China as well. Otherwise both genuine Russian AKs and Chinese Type 56s would be extremely common on the US market.
