Have you ever been somewhere really high up, and out of nowhere your subconscious tells you to jump? This unsettling sensation was recently coined the "High Place Phenomenon," but long before that, the French already had a term for this: "l'appel du vide." Which translates to "The Call of the Void."

Free agency.. as a human.. at any one moment in time you can be the greatest of good and love and the next the most evil and dark.. The biggest limiting factor on that wide range of freedom is ourselves. My gut tells me all of us humans are living an experiment. Maybe I’ll celebrate still being here every Halloween. That’s a new thought. Thanks for the POV. Mate, I love your storytelling abilities and your thoughts about the call of the void. Facing the call of the void, to remind yourself to keep going, I love that! As a Christian, I don’t think you should face all darkness of being human head on. I believe that there is a spiritual world and I believe that the stories from the haunted place are real, as I for example also believe that practicing the weegee bord may work. I'm not going to say that Halloween should be forbitten, because I don’t think that. Halloween is fun. But my point is that you should be careful when seeking some darkness, specifically the spiritual darkness, because the spiritual world is a real thing, and it can affect you. So, Jake I don’t criticize your argument at all. I’m just reacting to you talking about facing the darkness head on, in combination with you seeking spiritual horror stories. Hope that makes sense. Love your films!
