Thanks for this interview. Very interesting! Am not a portrait photographer, but look at portraits a lot. Yes to capturing the humanity and emotional condition expressed by the model. Look forward to reading the comments/interview in next edition of FRAMES.

Very interesting conversation. The connection with the model in portrait photography was well expressed. Those connections and the uncertainty involved are the reason why I'm a portrait not commercial photographer.

Another great interview Tomasz. I agree 100% with the notion of human creations and true human connection being even more valuable in the future apropos the AI conversation. Great guy. Great work. Great community.

Very interesting, and very nice pictures, and interesting, the pictures are not overworked and the pictures were wonderfully cropped. I love looking at pictures, whether they are taken in a studio or on the street. There is something special about eyes in pictures like the ones you showed here , love it

Great interview. Thank you. Regarding Ai, it really has no emotion with the subject, so besides areas like product photography I don’t see it taking over business. Camera manufacturers will hopefully make even better equipment to stay in business 🤩

Thank you so much for your comment 🙏 Regarding AI, after giving it some more thought, the only instance I imagine Ai-generated elements could be brought into the final image by the artist itself, would be some kind of consciously created visual collage, where those elements would be combined by a human-artist in order to express his or her personal emotions. Have to give it even more thought though.

Again, a very nice interview with a photographer, who has got my kind of style, except at a much higher level. Like his b&w (unbunt) approach. Also that he knows Helmut Newton, and Peter Lindbergh well. But I couldn't get the other photographers name. Perhaps you can write into the description. Great work Freek. Looking forward to the next interview. Have a lovely Easter.

Thank you so much, Heinz. The third photographer Freek mentioned was Paolo Roversi.

@@framesmagazine Thank you very, and I gad to look up Paolo Roversi. And I must say, yes it's definitely a very nice, and unique style. Will look more into it again. Thanks again for this great interview.

The appearance of emotion in photographs is not as complicated as we think. AI will reproduce it eventually. The only advantage humans will maintain is our ability to create things that haven't existed before, to see new connections, and to make imaginative leaps that don't simply extend what existed before. That is the only worthwhile work. Everything else is reproduction and machines are better at that.

And this exact human advantage will start becoming more and more valuable / not only in the art world.
