Isn't the solution to this to charge them with the relevant crimes and have those charges tested in court? The Supreme Court of Canada can keep the details under lockdown while the trial is commencing and release the relevant information after it finishes while redacting the field agents identifying info. Heck, parliament could probably release a redacted version of the report right now without a trial.

The best option is to prevent them all from running in the next election and start fresh.

I still don't get why people are positive about the FF14 story. I'm 60% of the way through the Storm Blood epilogue patches and a couple hundred hours in I'm still waiting for it to be good. There have been at most a handful of pockets where it was good for brief moments like a couple patches so maybe an hour of content each moment. The realm reborn stuff overall might actually be the best stuff story wise, Heavensward has much higher highs but also much much lower lows. Storm Blood's lows are also much worse and drag on and on and on and on. One of the big problems for both Heavensward and Storm Blood is that it feels like your doing all the work for the NPC following you around who will take all of the credit and be the main character, despite not actually doing anything. So the NPC who is made main character that is randomly put in that position because the story demands it, is then held there the entire time because you do everything for them. This would be fine is the game acknowledged that, but it doesn't everything acts like it wasn't you who did everything. Then those NPCs despite being in the lead and everyone listening to them the whole expansion struggle to display a tiny bit of competence in their role. It just leaves you banging your head against the wall having the praise the genius of characters that are proven idiots at every turn.
