The Canceled Arrow Coaster that ALMOST Came to Pennsylvania - Libertyland's Revolution

DelGrosso's Amusement Park flies under the radar for a lot of coaster enthusiasts because of the park's small size and emphasis on family attractions, but that nearly changed in 2006. A looping coaster by Arrow Dynamics made its way from the closed Libertyland park in Memphis to DelGrosso's, but it would sadly never be built. From its humble beginnings at Libertyland to its eventual resurgence in the Philippines, this is the whole story of Revolution.

Man, I've had a weird addiction to watching obscure video game content, theme park history, lost media and abandoned place videos for years and somehow just found your channel. It feels like you're doing this specifically for me. Subbed and bell rang ❤

I few reasons why I think the ride never opened: 1. Arrow had been out of business for a few years at this point, and while S&S does still provide parts for their rides, most of them were built at a time when relocating rides wasn’t practical (Shockwave at six flags great America was going to be saved, but just three parts in they gave up and scrapped it) 2. The opening date was supposedly 2009. I wonder what happened the year prior that damaged the amusement park industry (Insert Bright Sun Flims joke here) 3. Like you mentioned, the park primarily appeals to families, so while it would’ve been cool to have, the line would probably be nonexistent, not to mention the rides age would’ve made it uncomfortable, detouring riders even more.

My belief on what really happened is that somebody at DelGrosso’s saw an inverting coaster for sale for cheap and bought it without thinking about where it would go in the park. Once the higher ups saw how much the coaster’s maintenance would be and how big it really was, they just cut their losses and sold it on to Gloria’s Fantasyland.

I miss Libertyland. I rode the Revolution many many times as a kid despite my mother being afraid I’d fall out. LL was always an end of school trip for the entire district and I went countless times over the summers. Good times.

A happy ending for an increasingly rare coaster.

I knew they had purchased this and always wondered why they never actually assembled it and ran it. I'm not a big fan of wild mouse, it's....kinda boring. But as a kid going to then Blands Park, I absolutely loved the Pinfari Zyclon they had there. Sad that it was dismantled and destroyed after derailing as Sandblaster. Used to ride that one endlessly lol. Thanks for this info :)

That is very interesting. I never knew that they almost had an Arrow Looping Coaster. I had said a few years ago how it would be awesome if Del Grosso's added at least 1 thrill coaster in their park and here it almost happened with this coaster. I wish it would have worked out even though I do not like Arrow Dynamics coasters at all.

Is arrow dynamics still even around? What was the last ride they built

They ceased operation in 2002, with their last project being X at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Nope, not anymore I’m afraid. Arrow went out of business in 2002 and sold all of its assets to S&S as a result. The last coaster they built was X (now X2) at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Because of the high construction cost and mechanical issues X had that caused it to be delayed from its opening date in the summer of 2001, Arrow went bankrupt in December of that year, just a month before the ride finally opened. Their other last projects included the cauldron for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and even the cancelled Stratosphere Tower Fishhook coaster in Las Vegas.
