This clip features The Canton Spirituals singing "He'll Send The Blessings" LIVE from 1993. The Canton's recorded LIVE in Memphis I shortly before this video. This is one of few televised recordings I have in my collection after that recording and before the passing of Pop Watkins. Please enjoy this RARE performance. The group's full 20 minute set for this televised presentation featured (Ride This Train, I'm Coming Lord, Hello Mother, He'll Send The Blessings and Mississippi Po Boy). This was all the way back in the 90s when Harvey Watkins, Jr. was 39 at the time and his performance with The Canton Spirituals was awesome 👏🏾 and his performance is to the single was “He’ll Send the Blessings”

This is the period when Harvey's voice started going out and he couldn't hit those smooth runs and bars like he did on live in Memphis 1. His voice changed dramatically on live in Memphis 2.

Yep he's voice had gotten more raspy but I liked it and he could still sing though nonetheless

No.....he simply had to adapt a style that was a mix of his smoothness with his dad's roughness..........and now he is hands down one of the BEST lead singers in the universe
