Would love to see a cruise line go all Non Smoking! Our local beach, Tybee Island, went non smoking and it’s been great. It means cleaner air, healthier breathing, and no butts on the beach or worse in the ocean.
Great video, great safety tips. Interestingly the “one hand for you” saying has evolved slightly in these days of cruising. Now it means, use one hand to contact part of the ship (one hand for the ship) which will keep you safe and your other hand (free hand - the one for you) is to do with as you like. Hold your drink, whatever. Originally it meant you have the responsibility to hold on to the ship to keep yourself safe - that’s the one “for you”. Your free hand in the original saying was “for the ship”, that is to perform work in service of the ship and her operation.
On the Explorer of the seas today. Yesterday as we were a couple hours before departure, we walked thru the smoking section on deck 11. Big sign on the floor. “Refueling, No Smoking Please”. Evidently to the dozen or so people puffing away, that was a suggestion, not an order, since it said “Please”.
In general, that saying about pne hand for you and one hand for the ship is good. However, I use a rollator walker and need both hamds for pushing it. Do you have any safety tips for me?
I don't know you but I love you. I mean that in the nicest way. How do I find out if you will be our Captain come Jan 3rd on the Beyond? Would be so great to meet you in person. Keep up the great work!
Question - Does extending your contract by a few cruises this time push back the start time of your next contract by the amount of extra time you have on this contract?
I'm guessing it's a personal preference thing, and that some people don't appreciate it. It's awesome that you are open to it though! I have a deaf friend and she has taught me a lot about it.
