OK there is no way that the trick could have been done in the time it showed. Only from replacing the contents of the bowl from under the cutting board but there had to be more time in between. For sure somebody is under the cutting board and replaces the salad.

The bowl was never actually switched. Bottom of bowl is removable and food is put in through trap door in the table when it is covered. When he turned it that was him matching the trap door opening I’m guessing magnets, to start the switch. He smacks it and talks to add to time. There are several ways to get the food into the bucket even if you think it’d be hard due to gravity. Just use your imagination and you’ll figure out your own way

I think they switched the bowl. Remember Michael said that they have to wait for 5 mins. They may have had a bathroom break. So it's easy to switch the bowl at that time.

Sammy Spaniel Even if this show is fake I'd like to point out that all recorded shows on TV are edited for obvious reasons (e.g. time constraints). Producers cannot show the entire takes. Hence, they have to cut parts of them. Would it be reasonable to think that Mr. Carbonaro pushed the carrots down the bowl so he could cover it with the lid? Could it be possible that this part was then cut from the original video?

Totally staged show. If that was real trick they would show HOW they replaced an entire jar in front of a looking person. They never explain it because they never did such things. This woman is just an actress.
