One of the things he is so good at is following the leads the people give him. It's much easier for them to buy into an explanation they came up with themselves and he is very quick to pick up on what they say.

This trick probably works like chickens. If you put the head under their wing they will "sleep". So he takes the fake head then the move makes the duck go behind the table where he drops the fake head and the ducks head comes out. Quite an excellent trick.

It really shows how if people want to believe something, they will. In this case, it’s more fascinating to believe that a fake thing could look so real, than to allow oneself to come out of the delusion and acknowledge that it is indeed real. I’d say that this is really a sociological experiment as much as an illusion. 👍

I think I figured out this trick. At around 0:59, he's already hiding the real duck behind his back and immediately drops the fake duck. So by 1:03, he's holding the real duck with his head bent over against Mr. Carbonaro's torso. By 1:13, Mr. Carbonaro drops the fake duck's head and shows the real duck he's been holding. What do you think?
