Purple Strike He was going to accidentally insult him in a noticeable way but saved his ass by changing it and saying something else to make it fit what he thought and to benefit the other guy. So Michael still got his opinion out but insulted the guy without him knowing.

My guess is that he had the template for the piece of paper in the cosume bag displaying costume items and waited for someone with a unique outfit to walk through, secretly took a picture, and had someone quickly do a google search for all the items that he wore and photoshopped each item onto the paper and carbonaro slipped it into a bag and had several different color selections for clothing that could potentially be placed into the costume bag depending on which person walked through. It's very elaborate but it has to be something along the lines of what I presume to be the trick.

+cindy9178 not really. The video starts when the guy is ready to pay at the counter, as you can see he has items to pay for which explains that he was walking around in the store looking for those items giving the team enough time to prepare the illusion/prank

wild_ fever No, dude. Carbanaro isn't "reinventing the wheel" here. These aren't brand new tricks that he needs to pass off as totally legit (like how you wind up with other magicians who end up being called out). He's just tweaking classic tricks, then doing them where nobody is expecting magic. That's what makes it work (and why he doesn't need to do the "continuous take". For example, this one is just a tweak of when "Mentalists" seemingly predict something. Seriously...it's like you have just enough magician knowledge to know how other magicians have faked things (like camera cuts and hidden actors) but don't actually know how any tricks are done.

Here’s a theory. First of all He lowkey tried to steal. And Michael caught him about to steal. (In the beginning he tries to walk out). But this trick was also lowkey designed to prank someone stealing when you think about it. Michael found a guy about to steal and then decided to mess w him. He did so by showing him items he was wearing from a costume “in the store” that he was trying to steal from. This worked well because this panda guy was potentially about to steal a real costume and got called out for stealing a fake costume instead. Carbonaro even grills him about it and the guy kinda gets nervous. probably a little far fetched but lmk what you guys think.

+JNΛEJNΛΣ GΛMING He wears disguises a lot and people aren't expecting to be pranked in every day life. Even if you have seen the show, if you went to a coffee shop on your regular daily routine and he was your barista, he may seem familiar to you but you probably wouldn't assume you were on a tv show. Unless you watch the show constantly, he would seem mildly familiar to you just like random people you meet at parties. It would't be what you think automatically if you aren't a huge fan.

I agree.. but why wouldn't you? That's how a show like this is made. That's more of an obvious observation than a criticism. Every show or movie has multiple takes. Why would he air the times he's recognized any more than a movie would include outtakes in the final product? Just seemed like a silly comment is all.
