@@ghosthero0806 not just attacks, i had it 1 handed in my left hand not guarding and it was still occasionally blocking hits. I heard a ding and was like wtf. If the shield was between me and the enemy it sometimes blocked, if it was away from the enemy it didn't. I was playing with the omens at underground roadside when i noticed it.

Kinda crazy. I hope to see more funky block frame weapons in future titles! The Carian knight sword is one of the precious few weapons that can block when winding up a heavy attack, and these funky shields can be hyper aggressive with stabs while blocking.

I love the dueling shields, the blocking frames just feel so nice.

I think it bugged, prob gonna be fixed and nerfed soon

its a very cool weapon design. the guards are delayed on light attacks so you can bait ppl into hitting you then you just keep swinging and get them several times. Before they run away and keep their distance from you bc they dont know wtf they're supposed to do against something that can trade hits with them and survive.

The build shown here is horrible for that. Use the new +3 medallion for stamina, and double headed turtle talisman, and you will NEVER get guard broken in PVE. I tried it on Radahn in the DKC, and didn’t heal or get guard broken ONCE while also spam attacking

Great spears have super fast guard counters for how big they are. I think whips' counters are also decently fast and have great range, but not as much power behind them.

90% of the players who play in a group are L2 warriors, thats how they beat bosses as well - magic, L2 or a fingerprint shield

@@olegdusov4273 Whats your point? You make it sound like it's a problem really for PVE. Not everyone wants to just swing their weapon with the small openings on bosses for a measly light attack. Some people wanna use skills in those incredibly small openings. Like lions claw or somethin. And some people just aren't that gifted at dodging perfectly 24/7. Using a shield is just a tool. If this community stopped being so negative about other peoples choices in playstyles, we could be getting somewhere.

I love playing with openings and love using a shield sometimes, I have a number or characters all different builds ... Some ppl jus want to make ppl know there parry gods

@@Am4t3r4su it was an observation from my PvP and PvE experience with other players. It is a problem for PvP invasions, dodging from 99 skulls or disks or magic missiles is not exactly peak gameplay. It is not a problem for PvE, but it should not stop me from making fun of these players. Its not exactly a secret that souls games were never balanced around range combat or coop. They are playing the game on easy mode, MGS5 with a chicken head on. It is funny, thats it Souls community is pretty friendly and chill, there is no need to look for toxicity everywhere you go. I help players with bosses a lot, still - seeing a mage with no vigor die from 1-2 attacks is hilarious both in PvE and PvP I played Elden Ring on release as well - on a third week lvl60 Raya Lucaria invasions had 1-2 Moonveils guaranteed days in a row, usually Scarlet rot breath as well. This game is filled with interesting magic and cool gear yet internet ruined variety that fast. I find players, who seek the BEST option on RU-vid and rush to obtain it, instead of actually playing the game and exploring it, boring and lazy. Why do we applaud no hit runs of souls games? Because its impressive. But in the same way I find players completing the game with fingerprint shield and range spam unimpressive and its reasonable to do so I think.

How does this happen to people? The save data gets uploaded to the cloud as well so a corrupted file should be recoverable by redownloading a file from the cloud. Unless something crazy happened like the data that was corrupted saved over the cloud file I suppose...

That was a bug. It's since been patched and is working properly now.

He's at 200, Oroboro has also been at 200 since DLC dropped and I have been having no problems finding duels or invades at 190.

Two hand talisman doesnt work with powerstancing or paired weapons, that is usually the reason to run it considering most bleed builds are powerstanced

Technically the pvp meta is 125-150 but that’s only really supposed to apply to duels. There’s no “meta level” for invasions, you get good activity anywhere between levels 60-200

Yea theres a lot of overlap with spears AoW but its not the exact same, it also gets access to Shield AoWs as well except Parries

Better physical block for starters

carian has slightly lower element block compared to the regular shield but higher magic and physical protection and higher guard boost. Regular shield also has str/dex scaling while carian has st/r/dex/int.

@@JoeMama17888 endure can be worked around due its animation and hyper armor while can do the trick involve good timing or a read, you still need to react to the swift slash initiative, which is a bad spot to be in any confrontation.

Most players don't listen to or follow the pvp community. From a non pvp viewpoint there is little to no incentive to stay at 125-150 range and the dlc + end-game bosses from vanilla leaves you in the higher level ranges and are also difficult. Assuming players explore to do extra bosses and/or help out others the level range should be a good bit higher than what the minority pvp players say to stay at. I would only stay at lower levels if you specifically want to play with the pvp focused players or when most players leave the game once their done with it but even then you'll always find people in the higher levels since the playercount is so high compared to previous fromsoft games.

Yes. The DLC basically just unlocks access to the area but all the weapons are in your game files regardless.

I’m ngl, I’m bad at the game. But, I did beat the game. I tried invading with a madness build. It’s the same bs as always. 2-3 people waiting to gank with magic/bleed spam or it’s guys who are hyper aggressive with the new movement ashes of war. Takes a special kind of person to do actually win invasions, and it ain’t me lol

You guys use weapons? Wow so op and boring. REAL elden ring players use no armour or weapons, no flasks or items and play using a Donkey Konga gamecube bongo drum controller one handed while using the other hand to eat ramen and epicly post on twitter about how legit and super cool they are.

I mean, the buff is only substantial for the first few scadutree fragments. The buff is negligable at max. Plus, with how many they put near each other, the buff doesn't do a whole lot :)
