How do you think Bryce Young will play in 2024? 🤔

3700 yards, 26 tds, 12 ints

As a Panthers fan, 3000+ yards, 20-23 TDs 12ish INTs, probably 6 or 7 wins. I would consider this his true rookie year and growing pains. He has much better and competent infrastructure around him so I think he can only improve.

Yes, it was David Tepper terribly calling the plays last year, not Frank Reich or Thomas Brown. Okay, he hired the wrong guys, but it ends there. I never heard the "ironfist Tepper" narrative from any reliable, neutral NFL source. In fact, Ian Rapoport said once last year that he doesn't see Tepper as a meddling owner and thinks that narrative exists solely because the team is failing.

After the season ended, people called bryce young the next jamarcus russell for the season he had. The thing was, the panthers traded all of his tools and offensive prowess for bry e young. If anything hes tough that he played all them games without much injury even though he was sacked so many times.

People dont understand how bad the Panthers were last season. We threw screens 46% of the time through the first 6 or 7 weeks of the season. Frank babied Bryce, and he was too scared to tell him what he needed to work on. Bad Oline Play, bad receiver play, rookie quarterback, and terrible coaching on the offensive side. Tepper as your team owner, also doesn't help. I dont think the Panthers are going to be super competitive this season, but im hoping for at least 6-7 wins. Just need signs of improvement.
@chevyjr1862

He babied him because he couldn't make nfl throws and couldn't read defenses well and refused to wear a playback wristband he doesn't have a real nfl arm to throw into tight nfl windows
@parkerdavis7859
@parkerdavis7859 3 месяца назад
@@chevyjr1862 Wrong, wrong, and more wrong. Frank Reich's playbook was god awful, and he had no plan in place *besides* throwing him out there with an armband and silent count to get him up to speed. Usually rookies run with a limited playbook, but if that limited playbook is full of terrible awful no good very bad plays, it doesn't matter who's calling them. The truth is in the numbers, not this stupid little narrative you have about "not having an NFL arm" which is just demonstrably not true. Even less true about tight window throws. Windows last year were as tight as they possibly could be. He still managed to keep it clean in spite of no separation. You can reply to me, just know you're gonna be eating a whole lot of dirt by next offseason and I hope that you have it in your heart to apologize as loudly as you've disrespected him.

There has been mistakes on Bryce Young's part last year but what do you do when your team is on the precipice of horrendous? Even for Mac Jones when he was with the Patriots, he made mistakes, true enough, but the team was a mess. The Panthers were a mess and there was nothing Young could do about it. Putting that behind, the Panthers have made some improvements, they have a better coach in Dave Canales though we shouldn't throw flowers to him YET, he did do wonders for Mayfield make no doubt but to lead a team like the Panthers is a different matter, still I trust he will be efficient enough and it will come down to Young. I feel Panthers will win some games, be a decent team but I'm not expecting a Houstan Texans-CJ Stroud sort of year from last season
@frederickshaibani5655

Yeah, Bryce isn't a bust yet. He'll have some great moments this year and some cringe moments this year, no question. With that said, he looked JACKED in OTAs and you're right, Canales was great for Mayfield and he'll have a shot to work his magic with Bryce as well. And now that he has actual weapons at WR, who knows? Still don't see Carolina winning more than five or six, but they'll show baby steps in '24. Bryce threw 10 ints out of 527 pass atts. I have seen rookies come into the league and throw 15+ ints, so he's careful not to throw the ball into opposition hands. Carolina has improved OL & WRs around him this upcoming season.NFC south is not a tough division to improve in.

My thoughts exactly! I'd go as far as saying he's the best QB in the division and I'm not even a Panthers fan. If Bryce was as bad as most folks were making him out to be, then the season would've been a lot worse. All of the roster additions should be enough to win the division this season.

I think they’ll be a average team this year. They made a decent amount of improvements maybe a 7 win team. Panthers made the ultimate mistake, they traded up with the Bears for the #1 overall pick & not only did they take the 3rd best QB in the draft prospect wise but they gave up multiple 1st round picks & the #1 receiver on the team for a QB that was drafted to a team with barely anything to work with. That’s all backwards & if anything let him sit a year or two until you got the right talent to evaluate him correctly. I’ve never seen a team do what they did to him before except the Patriots with the Max Jones situation. They got some solid pieces this year so let’s see what they do first

Just so that it’s out there, Bryce’s one missed game, in Week 3, was a precautionary measure. He said he felt “95%” on his ankle, and the medical staff felt it wasn’t good enough. That’s what veteran backups are there for, they rested him for a week when he could have played. He was the healthiest rookie QB, and his bread and butter was the middle of the field. Any criticisms about his size and durability are purely aesthetic and not based in reality. He will have to overcome challenges, sure. But his size isn’t one of them. They didn’t have linemen who could block on account of having to switch the entire line blocking scheme and force maulers into a zone blocking scheme, you don’t have running backs can run worth a damn, and you don’t have receivers who can generate separation because you traded the only one who could (DJ Moore) in the package that you sent to the Bears to get the pick for Bryce.

ideally as a Panthers fan. I want us to end with a positive record and we don't even have to win the division. Just end with a positive record of minimum 9-8. But realistically speaking I see us having maybe 5-6 wins BUT I want to see ALL of our games be close. It will make me feel much better for the team moving forward seeing ALL of our games be competitive and not the embarrassment we had almost all of last year. If Bryce sees improvement along with the team as a whole then for the 2025 Regular Season we should start truly competing to win the division.

It's only been one year on a very bad team, I'll hold judgement on Bryce for now. My biggest gripe from his time at bama was his apparent lack of leadership, but that can be developed with experience. He's definitely not lacking in mental or physical talent. Put a team around my guy and he'll shine!

They’re already out. The only thing they were on the hook for still is a 2nd rounder in 2025. They traded BB to get that 2nd rounder back. It’s done. It’s over. Bears fans can stop gloating now, they got their guy and we got ours, and so far Dan Morgan has done an excellent job of taking this roster and elevating it with limited resources.

Nah. The Panthers didn't do him any favors, but Bryce Young has poor mechanics and poor anticipation to be a QB1 on the NFL level. Those things just don't magically go away with time. Also, unlike other undersized QB's like Drew Brees and Kyler Murray who have cannons, BY's arm talent is meh at best. I think his ceiling is Teddy Bridgewater...a high end backup at best but not someone you could build a franchise around.
@connorhendrickson

Im not saying that CJ isnt better than Bryce becaue right now he is and its not close. With that being said....the Texans also signed a new HC who was easily the best hire last year and Frank Reich became the first HC to fired mid season consecutively, Bobby Slowik will be a HC next year and Thomas Brown reverted to a RB and pass game coordinator, Tank Dell proved himself while Mingo struggled mightily to acclimate to the NFL. They also had an abundance of draft capital from tading away that SA creep to Celevland so they could go back into the Top 3 and draft a captain in the making on the defensive side, where the Panthers were on borrowed time with a Brian Burns who was already 1 foot out the door. This situation was comically bad....does CJ win more games? Probably. More than 5-6? Not a chance. Rookie seasons are not the be all end all, Mac Jones was OROY and made the playoffs as a rookie...who wants him to be their starting QB right now? Let's see what a drastically different coaching staff and roster brings this season before being a casual and calling someones career over 16 games in 😂

Shouldn’t have gotten Rhule, should’ve kept Wilks, shouldn’t have gotten Reich. I don’t think Bryce is generational and I really didn’t know anything about him coming to the draft. Similarly I don’t think he’s a horrendous QB either. We know especially with Bryce as an example not everything transfers from SEC/college to the NFL. The thing that transfers over is the basics, will, and mentality. I hoped panthers fans weren’t going to think one draft was going to fix all issues caused by four years poor staffing. I didn’t expect last year to be the panthers year. I don’t expect this year to be it either but I expect it to be better and decent football.

Situation aside, Bryce based on stature and arm shouldn’t have been the #1 pick. He did not flash enough within the garbage. He needs to become more urgent in the pocket, he drops back way too lackadaisical. Probably from the beatings, but he started to process slow in the year too. No excuses for putrid play from a #1 overall pick

Deonta Johnson is better than a lot of people think. Hes more like Danny amendola or Marvin Jones. He went to university of Toledo like Kareem Hunt and quinyon Mitchell. The Toledo head coach, coach candle, came from recruiting background and no one finds undervalued 3 star and unranked talent like he does. Thielen is the ideal mentor for Johnson. I still think Mingo has talent and we'll see with legette but I really like his size and rookie TE sanders can be nice. Im just glad thielen and Dalton are still there. I feel like people are way too excited about Atlanta and Chicago while writing off Carolina and cardinals even though all 4 have had the same results on the field for years

I don't agree. Bryce never should've gone 1st. I never saw anything from him that said he should go there. He was successful due to a system and players around him that were all better due to the stacked teams Alabama had. He always reminded me of a Ken Dorsey type in college. I don't expect him to get much better or will he ever live up to 1st overall.
