I harken back to 1973 at the Fantasia Skating rink in Sacramento California when it was time for the "ladies choice" segment of the program - this song was playing and the lovely young lady who skated along the edge searching for a partner chose me. My heart was thumping and my palms were sweaty but we managed to make it through to the end of the song. I never saw her again but this song still brings goosebumps. I wasn’t even born when this song was released, but for some reason I feel really nostalgic every time I hear this song... 🤔

This is the song that i sang with my mom few hours before she died 3 years ago this thursday, now i listen to this all the time to remember her and i cry for hours.

There is nothing in this video that is not deliciously lovable: her magnificent voice, the stage presence of the two brothers, the sweetness that erradicates so naturally from her❤

I’m a Japanese girl and They are my mom’s favorite and I’ve been listening and singing their songs since I was like 5 or 6. I didn’t know English back in time :) these were my first English songs I listened. Now I’m 18 and learning English for 6years. I think it’s because I’ve been in love with English songs since I first heard Carpenters’ songs. I entered a high school which has an English course and I met a friend who love Carpenters there! Sometimes life can be hard, my mom had diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease that can’t be recovered. And I’ve diagnosed with a lupus which can’t be recovered too. but somehow, listening to their songs makes me think life is still great and there’re more fun things waiting for me ;)
