the shows ARE connected. there was the ok ko crossover nexus episode, the alien invasion week [where everyone lived in the same place and were all invaded in their own shows by the same aliens], there was CN city [the animated city created by cartoon network where literally ALL THE SHOWS and their characters all lived and traveled together. and then the big one, there was also the many easter egg references where shows had photos, games, media and other content from other shows [like ACTUAL characters in one show watching the others, powerpuff girls living in the dexters lab universe, steven universe having ok ko as a tv show in universe, and even things like the total drama rindonculous race showing pakitew island on the planes tv referencing itself]. I do apologize for the grammar, my hands are in braces, but almost every single CN show is in some way, linked to other shows in a semi-canonical plotline. someone could, in theory, view all the CN shows and use every easter egg, crossover, reference, every instance of the CN city, and make a sort of "pixar theory-like" video. "the roundtable" youtube channel did make a video about the CN invasion and the theory about how several shows were not just related, but ACTUALLY IN THE SAME WORLD AND EVEN ON THE SAME TIMELINE. also, there is a sort of "theory" involving the professor from the powerpuff girls being samurai jack and time travel, and how using time travel theory, crossovers, intershow rerfences, and easter eggs, you can make a "timeline theory" of how every CN show is related and in the same universe.
The colored tongues in Ed, Edd, and Eddy were supposed to be caused by the kids eating colored sweets. Paul Boyd thought the purgatory theory was neat, but not canon.
I thought it was cuz the creator saw his nephew/son/idk eating a candy and it coloured his tongue and he thought it was so funny he added it in the show
Or the "all the characters are dead but only one is alive since he is in a coma due to cancer but it turns out the entire show is a drug trip" theories. You know what I'm talking about.
its ether "everyone is dead!!!" or "this super generic thing happened" lol like goes from so far left that it's absurd or just a mundane fact that happened.
Copy and paste of a related reply to someone else - I disagree. Sometimes you just write like that. I do that. I've been rped and had all that stuff happen to me. I'm obviously alive, but I've attempted to end it as well, if you catch on. I write like that because that's the way I survive. If I can't write I wouldn't even be breathing right now. So for me, I LIKE the theory of Nazz because it's a kid who understands what I've been through, and I am GRATEFUL to the people who made that up. She gets me. I believe the shock was more of a "woah that's crazy" other than "who came up with this nonsense." I can't speak for him though, I can only speculate. I replied to you because I just woke up from one nightmare or infinity about my abusers, it's 2:18am my time right now, so then I got on RU-vid and got happy hearing that theory, then I saw you comment so I had to reply to get all of this out. I hear voices in my head and they'd bug me for not addressing it. I'm just doing my best and I'm trying to survive, that's all. I'm grateful to that theory. EDIT: Adding this too; I was replying to someone with all of this. Also I may have messed up my grammar and spelling in some places, it's too touchy to proofread right now - it's so frustrating when people see these kinds of theories and go "it's just laziness or desperation" just because it's a bad thing that happened. These bad things happen in real life ALL THE TIME, they are NOT rare, they just are rarely told about because look at what happens to all of us who DO come forward about what someone's done to us. Many of us put the "tell" energy inyo stories as a way to survive and cope. No it's not "unhealthy", by doctors know how I write. It sucka that WE get to be bombarded instead of the people who are the reason such awful acts happen. They added it because they wanted to, not to be "edgy" or anything. Just like with every other story. The "normal hardships" happen WAAAAY more often in theories than what happened to Nazz. So when we finally get one that people like me can finally fully relate to, then we have to deal with people like you - no offense I don't mean that in a derogatory way - attacking it or putting it down, just like we got pit down for trying to tell on the person who hurt us. Like just let us have this, I don't wanna attempt to "end" again, I just wanna be happy that a theory includes something I can relate to. Let me have this. The universe fights me all the time, I JUST woke up from a ptsd nightmare where the EXACT same thing was happening to me too, just let us have this. That's all. I'm not mad and I don't hate you. I'm so glad I got to hear that theory ❤❤
I think the shared universe theory is possible due to The Amazing World of Gumballs episode The Boredom where the fourth wall is broken and we see other shows like Regular Show and Clarence.
i dont think so its more so due the cross overs with other shows that cn has had like billy and mandy legit talk with the ed brothers about a problem but wont due and suggest they talk to kids next door
[This is all speculation nothing here is true, just something I thought of before just a theory not fact. Getting that out of the way let's start it] There's also things that can go with the shared universe theory here's my take on it. 1. A character from Clarence (Emilio I believe) appears on Victor and Valentino [apologies if I spelt that wrong] 2. In episodes of Clarence and We Bare Bears, Adventure Time appears as a show in there making it a show in their world just like ours 3. Li'l Butter and OK K.O. make appearances on Steven Universe and Craig of the Creak (K.O. being a video game instead of a show) 4. Going back to COTC in a episode a character makes references to old CN shows like KND 5. In the SU episode "Say Uncle" (yes I know UG said it was not cannon but hear me out) at the end of the episode we see UG do a checklist and had other human CN characters meaning they would exist in some way in that universe 6. Also like how the top comment says how in a episode of Gumball the universe shifts going to Clarence, Regular Show, and Uncle Grandpa I don't know if this sounds plausible or I'm just over thinking things if it does sound legit to you explain more ways that this theory can be true. If it doesn't sound plausible try to prove points that can disprove my reasonings.
Tbh, I thought the theory relies on CN City, like old bumpers from like 2003 to 2007 that had all the characters in a city together. Like you see Mandy in a subway with Courage and Johnny Bravo. Plus the "Invasion" storyline did connect many shows together in one universe, like Imaginary Home with Camp Lazoo, My Gym Partner, Billy and Mandy, and Ed Edd and Eddy.
Hello doktor skipper, funny story: the cartoon network universe being connected actually has alot of merit, in okko Crossover Nexus its confirmed CN City is a real place, and not only that but all Cartoons live there if they choose to be after they get cancelled or want a break from their world. So id say its more of a connected universes thing, and Craig of the Creek and Steven Universe have a connection in some way, but almost every CN property ever is connected, this is also proven by the fact when Uncle Grandpa had an award show with all the cartoon network idols.
Wait isn’t the CN City the city in the background with older Cartoon Network Bumpers (you mostly see them with Codename Kids Next Door, Samurai Jack, Fosters Home, etc) and you see them interacting with other characters which you don’t normally see otherwise? If so that explains why in one episode in Billy and Mandy (which is titled Big Boogey Adventure) you see Numbuh 3 from Codename Kids Next Door appearing from a portal holding Grim’s sythe as a cameo.
@@ssdoivniosdniofodniofnoivf7896 I honestly forgot about that one! I also think in the Billy and Mandy and the CKND crossover I think Goo and Mac (I think also Bloo but I can be wrong) had a cameo near the end after the Grim Monster (idk what to call it but if you seen it you know what I mean) was defeated if you slow down the clip a bit
Though another thing to say about Regular Show is the episode Mississippi Queen, which might be the in-show Acid in the same way Chicken Wings is alcohol and Soda is Beer
The dumbest part about the purgatory theory is Jimmy being from the 2000's, when the show started airing in 1999. So for the theory to hold any water, the creators would have needed to intentionally add a character who is from the future.
i dont like how alot of the deeper topics are explained with "i couldnt find anything on google about this" isnt that the idea of an iceberg?? like figuring out the hard to uncover secrets??
For the original Jake is dead one, it could be referring to when Jake dies of natural causes, then starts expanding. PB takes his body to fix the entirety of the missing terrain on the earth after he’s dead.
31:20 “Mac is the manifestation of Frankie’s miscarried brother” Doesnt Mac get a crush on Frankie in an episode of Fosters?? Creator of this theory unintentionally made sweet home Alabama vibes with that
@@aaronjames3228 basically what they're trying to say skipper: remaines relatively neutral and frames the topic as interesting enough to talk about holeinmygarden: refuses to give shitty theories the time of day and is overtly cynical and dismissive of most topics he covers on the iceberg
@@ratboygirl Personally from an entertainment perspective I didn’t see why I should give things like Pizza Steve is Naked the time of day. The interesting stuff like the Gorillaz or Ice King thing, I tried to be as informative as possible whilst still trying to be engaging.
@@Typoh_YT oh i wasn't dissing you! i was just trying to elaborate on what op's comment was trying to say. i realise now i could've come off like i was shitting on you, sorry!!
I actually liked him. The middle parts of this iceberg really sucks and he was willing to call bullshit on the half-baked theories. Though, I'm kind of glad he didn't take up the entire video.
The “original Jake is dead” thing is because in one episode, the original iteration of Jake became the new host for Prismo (long story) and the Jake we follow is essentially a timeline-diverged version of that Jake.
2003 Kid: I loved Johnny Bravo. It was on On Demand and Boomerang. I remember sitting on a friday night, eating chicken nuggets and watching it with my older cousin.
My personal favorite theory is the the entirety of knd is just an exaggerated depiction of a game the children are playing. The contraptions are actually harmless and more for show than anything. The villains are just regular adults that either play along or try to stop the kids. When kids get older, they "graduate" and stop playing, eventually forgetting what it was like to be a kid. The bases around the world are other groups of kids playing similar games. Numbah zero being numbah one's father implies this game has been going continuously for decades.
I’m a 2002 kid too!!! maybe that’s little but I wanted to share :) I still have over the garden wall nearly memorized 💀 I was obsessed in junior high!! Now I watch it every fall 😊
*_You're not perfect_* If you remember that scene off Courage the Cowardly Dog, then congrats, your sleep must have been so bad the day you saw that episode.
@@aaronjames3228 I was below the age of 10 when I first saw it and the entire episode was really unnerving to me, the bones everywhere, the rundown interiors, and the monster in the wall were all pretty spooky to me but the violin lady pushed me over the edge. Had a similar experience with ET, that scene where the alien sticks his head up out of the dark cornfield and screeches scared the shit out of me when I was 11 and I refused to watch it for years
as someone who watched their grandfather go through alzheimers, yeah i see it. that episode always stuck with me as a kid, and marceline's reaction is sorta how i felt. it's frustrating when they don't remember things (like marceline's emotions showed). i didn't really understand it as a kid, but looking back it's perfect
sounds silly to say but writing that segment and re-watching clips made me want to cry. Everything focusing on that theme is so emotionally poignant and as someone who has grandparents who are beginning to display early signs, I’m especially attached to it. The I don’t remember you song is so good at pulling in heartstrings imo
I remember watching a really weird short on CN and nobody seems to have info about it, I've only watched it once and it was around 2006-2008 (I don't know if it was transmitted again or not after that day) so the details may not be entirely accurate, the short animation was about earth being invaded by aliens, the art style resembled samurai jack and the show called primal, it starts with the humans army fighting against the aliens in a city, the human forces lose the war and it was very gory to be in CN, after the battle had concluded human corpses were shown being eaten by worms and it was really disturbing to see as a kid, the short ends with a human child trying to find his parents and he comes across two figures, when he tries to reach out to them thinking it was his parents and it turned out it was two aliens disguised as FBI agents the screen fades black and the same kid is in some sort of incubation chamber with an orange liquid and a breather (kinda like the dbz healing machine), the camera zooms out and shows more humans in those capsules and then the credits roll after the scene. if anyone has any info about this it'd be really cool and I was really hoping to see this short animation in the iceberg since apparently no one knows about it.
13:16 Tom Dies isn't just about Tom being "killed" repeatedly, it's about one particular scene where Tom apparently is going to commit suicide by train after he sees the girl cat going out with another character. The rumor was that was also the very last episode of Tom and Jerry. Jerry also joins him on the train tracks for the same reason (Though being so small the train would just pass over him.) While not actually true, the visual is still a little unsettling looking considering the usual style of shenanigans.
Cartoon Network was actually founded by Ted Turner of Turner Broadcasting and was officially launched on October 1st, 1992 which was created as a syndicated rerun channel for vintage MGM/UA cartoons.
told my brother about the flapjack candy island theory and he said what if it takes place on one of the floating chunks of earth from adventure time. this could explain there being an edge of the world (if i remember correctly that that was a thing in flapjack) obviously unrealistic but weve had fun theorizing about it
Haven't rewatched Flapjack in a while, but if I had known that I definitely would have brought it up. To me, the theory is just a fun little thing to think about when watching both shows, growing up I really put a lot of stock in theories like these so I definitely understand and love the appeal of them :)
I remember seeing JBVO. I swear I remember wrestler Bill Goldberg being on it. I remember telling my dad, who's a fan of Goldberg, about the episode and we watched together. Knowing my dad, he probably has it taped somewhere. He taped anything Goldberg related back in that day.
Destroy build destroy, Hole in the Wall, and "Dude what would happen?" were the only CN Real shows that I ever saw. They were actually pretty good if i remember.
Regular show fan here boyyyyyy, eagerly awaited the premier when I was 10 or 9 because the teasers were cryptic and I was not disappointed at all, favorite CN show hands down to this day
Sadly that's how it felt like I was expecting somethings interested but it sounded like two dude who didn't give a damn about what they're talking about.
@@garrywulf537 yeah man people come to iceberg videos to learn about the shit they don’t know, not be told that the person making the video doesn’t know either smh
@@wavybaby6865 pretty much that. Most of the Iceberg videos I watched were pretty informative about the stuff they talked about and felt like I've learned something new. But this one... I feel like I have more knowledge of the things in the iceberg than the makers of the video.
Are you sure the “Tom Died” thing had to do with Tom and Jerry? I think that actually has to do with the Toonami mascot TOM jumping off a cliff in the final broadcast of Toonami in 2008 and saying “Bang” as the block ended it’s original run on Cartoon Network. Of course, Tom actually didn’t die, he flew away and came back in 2012 when Toonami returned on Adult Swim. But people always thought Tom actually died. Sure Tom and Jerry is owned by the same company as CN, but I would think the Tom Dies thing has to do with the Toonami Tom, not the cat.
I remember when I was a little kid, I was watching Ben 10 and my grandpa promised that he would build me a watch just like on the show. It obviously never happened lol, but I remember it hyping me up so much. I haven't heard of the show in forever, and that memory popped into my head out of nowhere.
Super underrated channel. You definitely deserve more subs! The attention to detail you put into these videos is amazing. I love how you didn't try to force subscribing on to the viewer, the self-awareness in the video, and the little things such as selecting "Creative Commons Attribution license" when uploading the video, and the time codes in the description!
I was a little too old to get attached to new cartoons when Clarence first came out but my little sister was still young enough to enjoy it and watch somewhat frequently, so I also watched it by extension. While it doesn't hold the same place in my heart that Adventure Time does, it still holds some fond memories because of how often my little sister watched it and my mom's frequent quoting of silly lines from the show. Like for example, my mom and I still say "savowy" because of Clarence. Overall, it doesn't stand out to me, but 9 times out of 10 I enjoy it whenever I happen to watch it. It's a cute little show!
"OmG gUyS tHiS tHeOrY wIlL rUiN uR cHiLdHoOd" its literally just made up cap with no context relating to what actually goes on in the show, finished off with a nice little cherry of stereotypical fan theory elements like, "the main character/characters are in a coma" "the main character/characters are dead" i literally think half these people just watched like 7 episodes of these series, fell asleep, woke up 7 hours later, but their TV went to the screensaver because they never interacted with the "Are You Still There?" menu that popped up 4 hour before, thought the show was over, were confused, and tried to piece it all together. Only problem is the whole time they were high :I
Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Misadventures of Flapjack, Teen Titans 2003, Johnny Bravo, Codename: Kids Next Door, Ben 10 2005, and Dexter's Laboratory were all part of my childhood. Great times. But I do remember both The Misadventures of Flapjack and Courage the Cowardly Dog being terrifying at times, much more so Courage the Cowardly Dog.
The "original Jake is dead" might be referring to the elemental series where Jake gets absorbed by slime princess where after the series Jake is different.
To answer your question: I watched Clarence way back, i really enjoyed the world design that it had, i never personally like the characters but i liked the world because it has a really nice vibe. I was really surprised when it was revealed that clarence's maker was kicked out because of the assault, it's really a dick move to blame the Autism Syndrome or, more specifically, asperger.
The Mushroom war was supported by so much more than just Finn the Human, Jack the Dog, and Simon & Marcy. I mean... The first mention of it was back in season 2, where it was name dropped. There was also the entire Islands miniseries, Stakes miniseries, everything with Patience St Pim, everything with Mars, everything with the Lich, everything with Betty, all of Simon's screen time aside from Distant Lands, most of Marceline, Bonnie and Neddy, Evergreen, Mo Co., etc. It's a heavily important part of the series.
Don't forget, after the Boston incident they made an episode poking fun at how dumb it all was, but kept it to dvd and not airing it to avoid any more controversy
1 love the videos, DONT care if its rambling nonsense sometimes its still interesting and gets me through the work day. 2 When I watched over the garden wall every day new episodes released I had no clue what it met because I was confused asf and now I can't believe how amazing it is. 3 learned more here than I do in school so thanks.
Over the garden wall was like a mystery to me. I missed episodes so i never knew what happened. But that never bothered me from the themes of childhood imagination being short and friends dont last forever
I liked your segments a lot :) but your friend is trying way too hard to be edgy. He's dismissive of any theory he finds dumb or doesn't care about. Watching someone be depricating and overly critical isn't very entertaining. He just seems incredibly dismissive and you should've featured someone who actually gave a shit about the topic. I'm interested in icebergs, even the dumb bits because they're somewhat humoring. I'm genuinely interested. This guy doing one Google search then saying "this topic is stupid, i couldn't find anything about it but this show sucks anyways so I don't care" isn't very entertaining.
I was only born in July 2000 so I’m not much older but I remember watching Johnny Bravo with my older brother honestly we bonded over it as kids/young teens
Wow I’m old. Half of these shows I’ve never seen. We started with Ed,Ed, and Eddie and then went way off the rails from there and I’ve never seen any of the newer ones
Ive recently come to start being repulsed by this channel, this was such a breath of fresh air, in all honestly your channel would benefit from the hole in my garden taking over, pls fix or stop
The connected universe theory is backed by the CN City bumpers from the mid to late 2000's I believe where characters lived in the same city and would interact with one another and because of the OK KO Episode named "Crossover Nexus" which was a crossover between OK KO, Steven Universe, Teen Titans Go, and the Ben 10 reboot, where they show the city again
Clarence was awesome, I was already a bit older when it came out but whenever I got bored it would entertain. It reminds me of stuff you did with friends when you were kids
I think something interesting i wouldve liked to see on the iceberg is how the 60s movie ivan's childhood accidentally got aired on cartoon network in 2009 or so due to CN's and turner classic movie's feeds getting mixed up with each other
in one of the episodes of adventure time "abraham lincoln" (who is some immortal alien inn Adventure Time) kills jake and then gives up some coin of immortality to a personification of death to bring jake back
I actually saw johny bravo goes to india, being aired in indian cartoon network, it aired on sunday, the day cartoon network aired only movies. And i think that some of the popular indian actors in the early 2000s did VA in it as well.
people say all the cartoon characters live in the same universe because of cn city (an ad block where in between episodes or commercials you can see all the cartoons interacting with eachother in the city)
johnny test is for autistic children with adhd who get bullied at school and Infinite is fun asf but a huge letdown after 6 long years of waiting. HUGE content drought after 4 months (plus more bc S2 dropping in MAY) and buggy desync issues, custom games issues, and theater issues. how does Halo 3 from 15 years ago do it so flawlessly? if it's struggling this much with bugs, imagine how bad itll struggle with bigger modes and features (like customs browser) once theyre added. that's not even bringing up the other subjective issues like armor core restricting customization potential and how rushed the campaign feels (very satisfying but is missing HUGE set pieces, biomes, etc. but ik DLC is coming)
i'm pretty sure the "original jake is dead" thing is in reference to the episode of bringing prismo back to life, though it's probably a misunderstanding because the second jake was the one that was sacrificed to bring back prismo, and not the first.
Really obscure Cartoon Network memories: Squirrel Boy Ben 10 shorts that played between shows Hero 108 That one Survivors parody with CN characters CN Characters vs Basketball players That Ben 10 Promo where they gave green movie tickets in Johannesburg. (I think that happened on 10.10.10)
