It’s kinda funny how people wanted the tag titles split when they were unified and now people want them unified again. It wouldn’t change anything cause the booking is dogshit.

I don’t buy a single word that Meltzer writes about WWE. He’s been consistently and verifiably wrong in his reporting about them for years now. It’s clear he doesn’t have an actual source there anymore, and if he does, they’re lying to him.

Would be terrible. Cody just became the face of the company and you have him lose to a 50+ year old legend who's already had his time with it and would just lead to Roman getting the belt back which would render a lot of WrestleMania 40 kinda pointless. When Cody drops the belt, have it be to a full-time talent.

Here's the thing: No one wants to see retiree Rock winning a world title. That's corny. I hated it in 2013 and I would hate it now.

Dave Meltzer said from 2018 to 2022 that The Rock would be at the following years WrestleMania... he never was. Then in August 2023 Dave said that The Rock will NOT be at WrestleMania in 2024 because of prior commitments, and he reiterated that again in September... and then The Rock showed up at WrestleMania 41. And even the buildup from The Royal Rumble 2024 to WrestleMania itself he kept firing out predictions week after week and they were almost always wrong. So its fair to say that when it comes to The Rock that Dave Meltzer has no idea whats going on.

Respectfully disagree. Having the WWE champion off TV for an extended period of time is extremely frustrating and creative suffers and the audience lose interest in the product. It happened with Brock with the Universal and WWE championship. It happened with Roman too. The Drew x Punk storyline did involve a world champion to get it going. It would only be exceptable would be for the Rock to hold that title if he’s at least on the shows and atleast defending that Championship every PPV. Also I kinda would expect The Rock to retire the Current WWE championship design in favour of either a new design of using the Bull championship he’s been walking around with from a while now, only to lose it back to Cody Rhodes and Cody reintroducing the big Wing Eagle championship or a revamp version of that belt.

couple of points Steve: 1. Majority of fans don't wanna see geriatric Rock as world champ in 2025. 2. You run the risk of Rock getting injured if you wait to 2026 or even SS 2025. What if Rock gets the pin on Cody and Cody never gets his win back? He'd look weak. 3. Cody's run is already lukewarm in fan's minds, if Rock beats him at WM, all people will say is how Cody's run as champ was always second fiddle to the bloodline story. We'd say in his reign he never was the MAIN character of his story. 4. He's not walking around hollywood in the people's championship now, why would he walk around with the network belt? No non-WWE fan is even telling the difference between the two belts anyways. I'd argue he's already doing his job promoting WWE, he doesn't need the main World championship to show off on IG. I hear your points, but I genuinely don't see much good coming out of him pinning Cody.

The Rock retiring is a good idea so long as he loses to Roman Reigns or Solo Sikoa. Oba Femi losing to Tony D'Angelo is a good idea that will pay off so as Oba Femi I wins the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline. Both because I think streaming services should have tiers and if you pay for the most expensive tier you shouldn't have to pay extra for PPVs but if you don't pay for that specific tier then buy the PPV at full price if you're broke/cheap and a discounted price if you have a little money. Both because WWE only recently split the tag titles up yet they're being defended the way they were in the late 2010s but keeping them on one team limits the title titles to one show for the majority of the time. Good idea and all Big 4s in every promotion should be 2 nights. Good idea because ROH can only benefit more from it if it was a 2nd brand with its own roster and PPVs. Good idea in the 2010s, he looked more like a boss.

I kind of think if you say to a wrestler "you're going to lose your title tonight, how would you like to lose it?" I feel like most wrestlers would prefer a quick surprise roll up over being beat flat in the middle by somebody's finisher. I think the wrestler probably sees the rollup as a protective thing than you do as a viewer.

Man with Cody winning the title we were excited for the idea of there not having to be specific people to win the titles, like the wwe title could be held by more than just the circle of people. Now that we have the rock back in the fold we’re back to a circle of 3 people who can win the belt. This mean we have to wait 2 more years till someone who isn’t Samoan or Cody to hold the belt? What has gotten into people? Rock is 52, over a decade past his prime. He has no right or reason to beat Cody. Also, Cody losing to a member of the bloodline ruins his entire story and takes several steps back. And why do people want Rock to beat cody? So he can lose it to Roman. Absolutely. Fucking. Not.

Rock v Roman doesn’t need the title. That’s the only reason why they want Rock to beat Cody. It’s lazy and if this is truly a new era; then they may want to book their shit like it’s a new era.

However, Oba was arrogant and confident that he broke Tony, and Tony caught him off guard with the rollup. It protects Oba and leaves room for Oba to learn from his loss and get the title back from Oba.

I can't even fathom how that would be great. He's not going to be full time, so he's not even going to be around after Wrestlemania. And who would he drop the title to? Cody or Roman which are two ridiculous options. Roman had his last title reign maybe for the rest of his career depending on when he decides to retire and Cody losing the title and winning it again quickly isn't it. It wasn't it when he did it to CM Punk over a decade ago, it isn't it now. The Rock should just go ahead and leach off of whatever juice the bloodline storyline has left, and lose to both Cody and Roman and walk away holding that childrens belt he has now. Also in your scenerio, the Rock probably loses it the Wrestlemania after and his opponent is projected to be Roman. You really think its a good idea to give Roman the world title again after he was champion for 4 years, 2 years after he lost it? And that argument about elevating the us title as the world title didn't work during roman reign nor when Brock held the title hostage in the late 2010's.

The Rock beating Cody for the title makes complete sense to me. Cody is the classic babyface type for the fans to get behind because they feel he's being screwed over. The problem is there's nobody outside Roman Reigns that would really feel believable as someone to beat Cody. Sure you could have Randy or Owens but they will feel like artificial placeholder champions and Cody eventually beating them won't feel as satisfying. And a Randy/Owens feud with Cody doesn't need a title. Is there anything bigger than eventually beating one of the most famous mainstream names playing an egomaniac heel calling himself The Final Boss?

I hope Triple H uses that picture when he calls in to the podcast from now on.

If he actually has two matches left I would do the triple threat and then something with Logan Paul as the ultimate aim should always be to put over the future which is why Cody is even involved as obviously rock Vs Roman is the one that makes sense
