My brother who now is 30 suffers from ET, hands and head. It's so painful to watch him picking up a glass with two hands, and the more people look at him, the worst his tremor goes. A month ago in Verona (Veneto region) in the main hospital, a machine like this one was installed, and I hope that something for my brother will change, like for the man in the video. A big encouragement to all the people who is suffering from this.
I went through this procedure. It was wild what I experienced. During the procedure I saw lights and stars. It was an unearthly experience. The tremor in my left hand has almost disappeared. But it did nothing for the restlessness I feel throughout my body. It’s like having the chills constantly. My ability to cope with this is worse than the tremors. I can’t sleep because I feel the anxiety going through my veins constantly. This is a condition that is highly related to ET. What can we do about that because it’s driving some of us with this condition insane.
@@abrarangel5706 I have found a physical but rewarding job and that in itself has helped a lot. I’m tired when I get home so I sleep better. I feel better than I have in years. I’m in better physical and mental condition. I hope others find this procedure helpful for them. But it’s not the total fix for the condition. Working hard and good coping skills has contributed tremendously to helping with this condition. The tremors and other symptoms don’t make you useless in life. Stay active and persue life in a positive way. This will help you more than any medication they can give you. Stay strong and don’t give up.
I had this exact procedure done in southern California in June 2021. After the procedure was completed and I got dressed, I could not walk. The doctor disappeared and I never saw him again. When I got home, it was time to go to the bathroom. I had to crawl to the bathroom. When I was finished, I tried to get up, but I instantly fell onto the toilet. Then once I got myself un entangled from the toilet, I had to crawl back to my bed. The next day was my follow up with the doctor. He was nowhere to be found. I was only met by the department administrator and a physical therapist. The long and short of this procedure was but I sustained a stroke and absolutely no improvement in my tremors. The ultrasound waves were so strong that they literally bounced around on my forehead because they were too strong. Again, the only thing I got out of this procedure was a stroke, no improvement of my ET and a bill for $1250!
This is my father and I can say the treatment has been life changing. I watched the entire procedure and it's a medical miracle in my opinion. He is so much better and has his life back. Dr Peter Baines is just awesome at St Mary's hospital. I hope they approve under the NHS for all patients who are suitable for it.
I am so happy for your father. I myself am suffering from Essential Tremor. But unfortunately, we don't have this treatment in Denmark. Congratulations to you all, the whole family. It is a miracle. Your father deserves the best life he can get.
Can you talk to your father on whatup about the operation you performed? I suffer from the same disease and I hope to relax from this thing that hinders my daily life. I hope to talk to you. My number is 006947717855743
I have ET to a slight degree and take tablets to keep it in check. I hope that this proceedure goes worlwide and becomes available to everyone who needs it....🙏
I hope they can treat voice tremor too.... Its so frustrating to have voice tremor too.... It effects our personality it made me timid and lose my confident most of the time and i also dread talking on the phone..... Im so happy for mr.dinesh cos i can relate what he gone through tho our tremor is not same
Happens with me too sometimes, and this is why I lose confidence.. People think we get nervous, but actually it is a combination of nervousness and tremors
@@MuhammadAbdullah-pw1dw yes exactly. Whenever we have to make a speech our mind wonders if our voice is going to shake that makes us nervous a bit. Then when the actual speech making comes the combination of both makes us mess things up. Its so frustrating sometimes
Thanks for sharing this innovative, modern procedure(s) that’s available outpatient procedure without going for surgical knife, right, superb doctors, nurses and techs. And brave Kotecha, Cheers! God bless!!
My heartnached for.this man and his caring family. It seems that the Doctors could have avoided unnecesary pain in the beginning. Best wishes to this family.❤
I have Essential Tremor for years It has become much worse this year. I was at hospital recently and the Doctor noticed it. I told him I hope to get the procedure done. He knew nothing about the procedure. He never heard of it. 🥰🥳😇🌹⛽
I wonder if proteolytic enzymes can do the same thing this procedure does to the brain. I've read that proteolytic enzymes in sufficient quantity can pass the blood-brain barrier.
Hate how they don’t mention it only works on one “hand” not side of the body and only lasts at most 3 fucking years before everything goes back to shit 😭
They did say it's not really performed in the UK that hes one of the first patients so the US may be where it originated. I've been waiting to hear them give this procedure a name so I can look it up
I am Arvind 51 years old and suffering from Ataxia SCA12. Have lots of problem of tremors and hand, wrinting tremors and tremor in tongue which effected my voice quality. Can my problem be cured or can improve my personal and social life??
I expect that this wasn't available on the NHS in the UK. What wasn't revealed was the cost of this procedure if done privately. Could Mr Kotecha's family comment on the cost?
balletmeisterin hi there. My father had it free as part of the trial under NHS. The treatment is in the process of being approved- look in to it as NHS now provide it
Hi, I suffer from this and would really like someone to guide, recommend how I can source this treatment either on the NHS or independently. Thanking all in advance as it is becoming really challenging as the days go by.
Can anyone please tell me the approximate cost of this procedure in US dollars? I can't imagine anything but very expensive PPO insurance plan covering this
You'd have to google it. If doctor finds necessary you can probably be approved by any insurance to cover it. Just like with my breast reduction. Its typically seen as a cosmetic surgery so they dont normally pay for it but because my general physician is stating its necessary I get it done, they approved it.
It was free my father had it in the UK at the hospital as they were doing research. I believe it may have been approved by NHS now but its best to check with them
This is what I am suffering from but not to the extent of this gentleman it happens when I tilt my head back it's in my hands and legs and arms I wear make up and have noticed in this last few months I cannot put my eye make up on for the tremors..I have an impacted left wisdom tooth on the upper jaw and are waiting to have it removed I will be interested to see if my tremors improve after the extraction thanks for this video..👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
