as a predominantly pyro player we only focus down spies so nobody else on the server has to deal with seeing xX_sup3rd3ath_Xx's professional killstreak diamondback titled "one shot one kill" with a description in japanese on the killcam
"The SMG is one of the best secondary weapons in the game." *pulls out my spreadsheet* Shotgun, panic attack, flare gun, detonator, gun boats, all 3 banners, mad milk, jarate, all 3 of demomans shields, the wrangler, the sandvich, the second banana, and technically the sticky bomb launcher and medigun are secondary weapons.
I was thinking about this while editing the video... maybe the smg isn't better then the stickybomb launcher lol but it's definitely better then the pistol and it's perfect for what sniper needs
Some casual crooks I'd love to see in a video: Machina Snipers that only go for bodyshots Jarate + Bushwhacka Snipers Force of Nature + Crit a Cola Scouts (not nearly as busted as it used to be obviously but can still be annoying) Vaccinator Medics Short Circuit Engineers that spam on the payload cart Gunslinger Engineers (especially on hightower or harvest, they know what they're doing) Skullcutter Demos that always get random crits for some reason Soda Popper + Mad Milk Scouts that can tank anything, heal, run away until the milk recharges, repeat The "Medic Girlfriend"
I cannot tell you how many times i've run into jackasses using the kunai, dead ringer and then, to add salt to the wound, they're also using the diamondback. That kinda playstyle is actually unbearable to fight against, i'd low key rather have paper cuts all over my body and jump into a pool of lemon juice than have to fight one of these wretched demons.
yeah. They think they're trickstabbing the whole enemy team and then they jump off stairs for no reason lmfao. The REAL pro load out is "Kunai,DR, AND THE AMBASSADOR OR LETRANGER"
@@nekoafterlyfe These guys who use L'Etranger or the Amby are at least a tad bit more respectable, but they're just as annoying to fight against, if not more so, because they tend to actually be good at the game
@@user-os1wr5vi1t It's a skill issue from the part of my teammates, yes; I am the one who gets punished because THEY got backstabbed by this one spy who happens to be using the diamondback, like how is that MY fault Same deal with the Kunai
"you have to hit your shots" would actually be a good way to balance the diamondback. Make it have a longer cooldown between shots - if you miss you're just sitting there with no ability to shoot for 2/3x the time, while a normal revolver can just keep firing and drop light classes in 3 hits. It would fit the weapon's design too - it looks bulky and heavy so slow shooting makes sense aesthetically
I like to play as Soldier with the Black Box; but instead of using the Conch, I use the Battalion's Backup. Not only do I think it's the coolest looking of the backpack items, but extra 20 health and sentry resistance comes in clutch quite often.
With the huntsman, remember: DON'T GET CLOSE! The closer you are the higher chance of a headshot. Yes I mean you demoknights that just charge me without a thought inside your collection of heads.
As a Former Spy main and now a Soldier Main, I don't like Kunai DR Spies and I usually resort to hunting them down whenever possible. As you say, they're not fun to deal with but somebody has to dedicate themselves to stop the ball from rolling.
@@xx_squirtle8621old DR ringer feeling That shit used to have 90% damage resistance at all times, it doesn't even decrease resistance to be lower the longer it's active, it also used to get cloak from ammo packs
@@xx_squirtle8621 hey, at least it doesn't work too well for them a lot of the time compared to before Since they actually need more risk since, low health and the need to stab to become buff
The casual crook of Scout is Bonk + FaN + Atomizer. The soda gives Scout a get out of jail card that takes no skill to use. It's also the most brainless way to flank. Since the Force a Nature fires so fast, Scouts don't have to aim for the second shot. And it's impossible to react to, feeling really annoying to die to. The only reason I don't 100% despise this loadout is because FaN knocking enemies into death pits and Bonk+Atomizer taunt kills have big funny value. Bleed Scout is annoying and powerful, but it's not a casual crook IMO because it takes considerable aim to hit both the guillotine and wrap assassin ornament on one target.
Some ideas for you: Medic - Vaccinator (free immediate resistance) Sniper - Bazaar Bargain or Jarate (they both reward you for doing seemingly nothing at all) Engineer - Wrangler or Short Circuit (two weapons which can shut-down any sort of push because they press 2 on their keyboard) Scout - Mad milk (same reason as jarate, kind of just a win button)
Spy mains over the past lets say year have been realising that thr ambi is actually sometimes better than the DB, even with the DR kunai combo, i would know, i use the kunai DR with the ambi, i match the diamondback more with the big earner because of the chain stabs for that weapon makes it more exillerating
Earlier today I was playing an upward match on Uncletopia with 3 topscoring snipers in a party on the enemy team and I got them to leave by sticky jumping on them with the caber over and over
No mercy spies are the worst indeed. Once i got into a ctf match, and it was 2fort. Peopel started being friendly and such, so ut was nice af. We all gathered on the bridge, heavys sharing sandviches abd using the holiday punch, engineers building dispensers... It was nice indeed. There was ONE SINGLE SPY that insisted on disguising right outsdie od spawn and going to the bridge, and backstabbing everyine on my team. I eventually got mad and decided to kill him alone, and another tryhard joined him, playing other classes. Eventually the entire wituation escalated to an ACTUAL map of ctf, we were actually fighting like other games and trying to cap. I raged so hard i installed overwatch 2 lol, still gotta play that. Sorry for text wall :3
Aside from conchbox getting you critical health, it also quite literally gives you critical hits, since you stay in combat for longer. It's also very easy to detect deadringer spies since this weapon is si bugged they sometimes don't produce killsounds, although even if they do, they still might be alive
I gotta admit, I hardly ever play soldier and after watching this video, I went and tried black box + conch + disciplinary action and .. it worked! Lol, thanks for the tip! Cool video, BTW. I like the way you phrase things.
For scout, his "casual crook" loadout would definitely have the Force-a-Nature. They can use it to sneak up on anyone and 2 shot them (with the 2 shots it already has). This makes them kinda like spy, but they are way more mobile (cause... they the scout). Idk if that would be a bad enough load out for a casual crook, but it might be (especially on control point maps & capture the flag). What their other weapons would be, idk. Probably the pocket pistol (for its extra health), and the Wrap Assassin (because it has a really annoying projectile).
@@hussar7733 one can instantly kill you from any distance and the other is a dodgeable projectile. Sure the hotbox is jank but it's not insta death by quickscope
@@nigeladams8321 I'll take quick scope that actually requierd some mechanical skill rather than bs arrow that some dip-shit shot in my general direction that will in best case scanario deal 120 hp any time of the day. But whatever you find less annoying I guess. Still I'd like to see that thing get nerfed or even removed.
@@hussar7733 have you ever use the huntsman for an extended period of time? It's a projectile with travel time you have to do some prediction unless people are running down a choke point but choke point spam isn't unique
@@nigeladams8321 it isn't unique but it's way more effective and annoying when huntsman does it, pills, stickies and rockets don't insta kill (unless random crit but that doesn't count) and are much slower. And requiering basic prediction is like bare minimum of any projectile weapon and hutsman is very forgiving and has extremly fast projectile but anwsering your question no bc I played it once and then never again cuz it felt pretty bs to me so Idk maybe you're right. I'll try it out maybe it'll change my mind.
Not necessarily a casual crook, but casual *crooks*. Medic soldier/demo/heavy/power class combos steal the fun of the game so fast. Oh man, and if a medic is pocketing a battalions soldier with the kritzkrieg... it's over.
The diamondback shouldn't reward sapped buildings imo, it would still reward good players for being good, but you can't just get free crits for exploiting the blind and deaf f2p engie who doesn't even know what key moves forward
Soldiers spies and snipers are actually the bane of casual. Play engineer heavy or medic? Here comes 3 kunai spies!! Play any class in the game and walk around a corner? There’s a pocketed soldier who eviscerates you in 0.1s because they got a lucky crit rocket
I use the Noh mercy loadout just to troll. If I'm being serious I use stock revolver, bit it is VERY funny watching the reactions you get from killing people with the diamondback, especially when you OUTSNIPE a sniper hiding in a corner.
I play Scout all the time and my all-time two hated "casual crook" loadouts are minisentry engineers and huntsman snipers BY FAR. The only weapon I truly fear in close proximity as a Scout is the huntsman because of the ridiculous number of times I've been wiped off the planet by one stray, close-range arrow which somehow found its way to my head, despite the fact I SHOULD have had the advantage to take out the Sniper with ease. And engineers who mini-sentry spam can literally suck all fun out the match and make you want to leave or swap classes because of how annoying the slow but sure damage of minisentries around every corner ends up being.
-ConchBox my beloved (I refuse to call it "Immortal Soldier", fuck Elmaxo). In my experience with TF2, it has without a doubt been my most consistent source of high killstreaks and fun moments. -Huntsman is very Funny™. It's like the funny moments machine. It doesn't work all the time, but when it does, it fucking DOES. -KunaiRinger sucks. Fuck this thing. The health you get from a Kunai backstab + the Dead Ringer's damage resistance + speed boost is probably the single most annoying thing to fight in TF2.
I'm not sure if the "noh mercy" spy qualifies as a crook, because it takes a half-decent spy to use it effectively. So this loadout is somewhere between "crook" and "pub stomper"
religious spy main, i've used the diamondback once and never again, i swear when they did that ambi nerf and left this like that they were most likely smoking crack!
For Scout, if we talk annoyance more than stomp then the bonk is defo up there. In fact a favorite loadout of mine if I just wanna annoy people is to go fan o' war+bonk and tag people to death. It's ridiculously easy to pull off and you can get away very often as well since the bonk more or less acts like a visible dead ringer. Now don't drink the bonk right after tagging someone as you are too close to em, instead, run a bit further away, preferably behind cover and drink the bonk and watch the person you've tagged try to pointlesly shoot at you while they are marked for death. Which btw stays on for 15s even if you die or if the person you marked is being healed or even ressuplying. You could pair it with the force of nature to 2 tap most classes and make a big enough space between your opponent and yourself to run away if you fail.
I use that spy loadout but with the l'Étranger instead. I just pubstomped with it like a maniac on KOTH, 30-5 and by far the highest score in the game. If you have good aim you can instantly decloak after you ringer, hit them 3 times as you're using the speed boost to dodge and create distance and BAM! Your ringer is already fully recharched less than 5 seconds after you used it. Also if your aim is on point you can use the overheal to pick fights with injured targets and just gun them down, I think I got around 13 kills out of 30 with my gun that game.
This is ep2, ya better not miss out mentioning Gunslinger Engy in final part dawg. How did he miss out on BOTH episodes when Gunslinger engy is THE definition of casual crook, no skill, fun ruiner, easy to play Edit: Gunslinger should've replaced "Lucksman" it's wild Huntsman still getting hate in 2024 when Huntsman is just a fun downgrade to sniper rifle, making it possible to 1v1 sniper unlike 4K hours quickscope sniper rifle mains 😢. Although I don't use smg with huntsman, feels very cheap and by using Cozy Camper, I force myself to use arrows to git gud at headshoting scouts or juking them while I charge 2nd arrow 😂
I know pubstompers are normally exempt from these, but I’d like to bring up Kritzkrieg pocket medics who basically glue themselves to one guy specifically. These things are just obnoxious
I like to play dead ringer + l’etranger and camp behind enemy spawn in payload. Sniping them with my pistol and cloaking away the first time they hit me, only to decloak 2 seconds later and continue the cycle.
Soda Popper &' Crit-a'-Cola for Scrout. Soda Popper is the strongest Scrout primary in the game, and giving scout FREE MINICRITS ON COMMAND AT ANY TIME HE WANTS IT is just not fair.
Crit a cola is really not that bad as you can kill them as fast if not faster than they can kill you with it and the soda popper is good but it's not really that annoying
While the Crit-a-Cola is free value, it also leaves the Scout very vulnerable and only Scouts with good gamesense can use it effectively. I'd argue the Bonk Atomic Punch is a much bigger crutch, because it removes like 90% risk from flanking, and gives him a way to get out of many situations where he shouldn't have. It synergizes well with the FaN, because FaN is great for flank scouts who want to be behind their opponent. Casual Crook scout is FaN, Bonk, and Atomizer IMO.
The Black Box is very low DPS compared to other options and the low clip means that you have to dip out of fights a lot to reload It’s great for roaming new players, but not good for holding a front line or pushing as much as a Stock set… use it if you don’t have a medic or plan on needing one
yeah, I love going deep into enemy lines as a solo Soldier and none of my friends pocket me, so Black Box is a must have. Although I often run the Panic Attack or Gunboats instead of the Conch, since I won't be around my team to give them the banner buffs.
This really only works on a few maps, but Thruster + Flamethrower Pyro on like Harvest is nasty. It's really easy to jump into the other team's spawn zone and just camp for kills. I remember one guy got so salty he put on the Darwin's and still got cooked multiple times in a row.
Nothing is better than popping a smug bad box soldier up in the air with a pipe or sticky and following up with 2 air shots. "You can spam splash damage for cheap heals all you want. It won't save you"
for me i use dead ringer kunai, but swap between ambassador and l'etranger, i agree that it can be the other teams fault. ambassador was good cus skill, dead ringer diserved nerf, yet the diamond back has the same "problem" valve saw with the ambassador but worse. personally the biggest strength of the kunai is that you have no chance of dying after a 1v2, as debuffs are removed
I DESPISE the Huntsman; it makes Sniper as brain-dead as Soldier. "Oh, I'll just spam fire in random directions and manage to score 10 kills from across the map without even seeing the enemy." Lame af
As a Spy Main I dont use the Diamondback and I know that a Spy being rewarded by a fault of your teamates is bullshit, but your telling me a phlog pyro with a pocket medic is not bullshit, then im using the Diamondback, Kunai and Dead Ringer.
6:43 I will never understand why the arrow uses the world collider hitbox but demoman pills dont. and the time it did all the other ones were nerfed. oh and the cannonballs demoman shoots are fucking microsized
2:18 I'd wouldn't say running conch over gunboats is a loss. Gunboats are overrated and only encourage a selfish loner playstyle, while the conch is a boon to your team and also a fantastic tool for roaming as well
I personally disagree for the whole Noh Mercy set on all points, simply because each of these weapons have way more interesting (and stronger) equivalent, and they only work when you feed off players with little to no awareness. If one player in the team with a microphone, and an ounce of attention shows up, that spy set becomes virtually useless. The diamondback and the kunai are virtually useless if you can't get kills in the first place, and the dead ringer is just not a good item to do Spy's job to begin with. But literally, stock, any other knife, and any other revolver do a better job than then ringer kunai diamondback combo any day in the hands of a good player.
probably soda popper but i have never seen that unless from good scout , fan can probably not fall into this category since it requires a cliff and most of the time they do haha funny environmental kill you already know where to find them backscatter is bad and baby face is mid so the closest thing is probably soda popper or force-a-nature
Devils advocate- I think the Kunai is *mostly* ok. A lot of weapons punish you for the teams mistakes- you can argue that about all the banners, the frontier justice, and the ubersaw. I do think it needs a nerf, since it is way too much, but I don't think it is the boogieman people make it out to be. Same with the deadringer- annoying but hardly a strong weapon compared to the invis or cloak. Fuck the Diamondback though.
me personally im a deadringer kunai ambi spy because i dont like getting cheap kills that require minimal skill when im in a pinch and need a weapon to do high outputs of damage but that might just be me
The absolute hate I have for the huntsman. I always feel guilty using it. You get rewarded way too much for something that takes relatively alot less skill
Not really, the huntsman takes more skill to use effectively (not spamming it down a point) and if the sniper is spamming it, it's very easy to get around
@@Moter. the huntsman does have a high ceiling. But it's really easy to pick up and deal obscene damage or get a lucky headshot. Compared to aiming projectiles like pipes and flares, arrows are both easy and way too rewarding
@@RandomFurry07 that’s why I said most common. The only ones I can remember off the top of my head that aren’t super choke pointy are upward, sunshine or whatever it’s called and thunder mountain. Other than that cash works, hoodoo, swift water, steel, barn blitz, snowy coast etc are all maps with some serious chokes (excluding CTF for obvious reasons)
the ambassador is better than the diamondback because you can do the same damage literally whenever it's still the best damage dealing revolver even after the nerfs
i feel like the noh mercy spy is a bit unwarranted here i mean dont get me wrong the diamondback is OP beyond hell but playing kunai spy isnt super easy, and its doubly not easy with the DR, giving you little health, and little ability to sneak around yes its annoying when the spy kills you using health and crits from killing your less skilled team mates, but it still takes a bit of skill on the spies part compared to the lucksman and the blackbox conch solly that can more or less spam down choke points atleast
I think for the last 3 it should be FaN scout because that god damn knock back and kinda stunned in the air for a short while is pretty annoying especially for newer players. Then we have the wrangler engie because of how brainless you can play with it with the auto aim and increase HP on a Level 3 and even on a mini. And the worst possible play style, The Vacc med. No other words needs to be said
If i wanted the problems nerfed it be as follows. Conch requires 540 damage, requiring five-six rockets rather then five. Huntsman minicrits unless you fully charge for a second. The huntsman is too spammable and cornerpeaking with it is a class counter issue that doesnt take a ton of skill/luck to pull off. Diamondback, wipe the damage penalty and give it a 35% reload penalty and minicrits instead of crits. No you shouldnt get 102 shots for doing your job.
@@RandomFurry07 Idk if you're saying the Diamondback would be horrendous to use if it dealt minicrits, because thats just doesn't seem right. I know the ambassador was sh*t at launch because minicrit headshots made it barely better than stock, and thats because of the damage penalty. I'm removing it for a slower reload speed, and in turn downgrading crits to mini crits because a 54-81 minicrit shot can still give lenience for a twoshot on light classes while needing a second minicrit to twoshot medics.
@@Spiffyo too much risk for less reward The 35% increase in damage in a weapon with already decreased damage is... Not very good If we're going with that concept instead of... Completely reworking the damn thing I would suggest making it timed instead of stored, like the Big Earner speed boost, you have minicrits for a certain amount of time
@@Spiffyo ah... It will still have the same issue still, just less so since it now has an actual downside I never liked this weapon design to begin with
