I prayed this last night! My thoughts were so scattered and torn. It was too much to put coherent words together for my prayer. So I sung this hymn. Oh I love Contemporary Worship music but I also dearly love traditional hymns. I am 63 years young. I wish that my children, all four in their 30's, could have that connection like I do. The old hymns still have worth. The message still stands. ❤❤
My Husband and I were always blessed by the Cathedral Quartet. Our first date was to attend one of their concerts in a little Church in Brooklyn. New York. Thank you
J. Edwin Orr wrote this song knowing that repentance proceeds revival!!! “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves...” Oh Lord, we ask this for Your body of believers, and let it begin with us! Thank You ahead, Lord, for we know this is Your will. 💝
Search me, O God, And know my heart today; Try me, O Savior, Know my thoughts, I pray. See if there be Some wicked way in me; Cleanse me from every sin And set me free. I praise Thee, Lord, For cleansing me from sin; Fulfill Thy Word, And make me pure within. Fill me with fire Where once I burned with shame; Grant my desire To magnify Thy name. Lord, take my life, And make it wholly Thine; Fill my poor heart With Thy great love divine. Take all my will, My passion, self and pride; I now surrender, Lord In me abide. O Holy Ghost, Revival comes from Thee; Send a revival, Start the work in me. Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need; For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.
Lord cleanse me from everything that displeases you. Let your precious blood cleanse me from every sin and keeps me free from it's bondage in Jesus Name, AMEN.
To be truly cleansed by His precious blood is to allow Him to go into the very deepest and secret areas of our hearts that only He knows and sees and allow Him to cleanse these areas.
Does not get any better than this I lost it when the clip of Glenn n George sang those two blessed gentlemen are but are apart of God’s Heavenly Choir 🙏😇😇
A stage filled with the wonderful voices of beautiful men. Singing a great song to our Heavenly Father...yes, search me, O Lord...more relevant than ever here in Feb. 2022!
This indeed should be the child of God's daily prayer. Lord God, Lord Jesus, and holy Spirit of God. Search me and try me everyday to make me more like you, and less like this world, in Jesus strong, eternal, and precious name..... Amen! Thank you for saving and rescuing me! 😌 🙏🙌
Almighty God our heavenly father , Help us always to do the right thing, guard us, protect us from the evil one ,with his temptation and harm . Give us your grace, give us your love and forgiveness . Thank you lord, we are so grateful to you and your loving Son, Christ Jesus. Peace and love to all Gods Children.
Very powerful.. the anointing... so so powerful. My preacher dad would often sing this during our morning family prayer when we would be on our knees in worship. Nothing beats the sweetness of the anointing.
I have been a wayward youngster and destined for eternal damnation but out of GOD'S unsurpassed LOVE HE claimed me. Now I am saved but while still in this world I always plead for GOD'S mercy to sustain me for I am very susceptible and vulnerable to all the designs of our enemy and thus rely only through HIS INFINITE love and mercy this is my theme song in life. Life in this world is slippery I need HIS CONSTANT support through HIS EVERLASTING COUNSEL AND SEARCHING SPIRIT OF TRUTH.
The tune is Po Atarau (english translation, Now is the hour) J Edwin Orr visited New Zealand and when he was leaving some Maori girls sang Po Atarau, he loved the tune, and wrote Search me o God to the tune. You can find Po Atarau on You Tube. .
An honest prayer to invite the Holy Spirit the searcher of man's heart to reveal any blockages or impediments in relationship with God in hope of complete cleansing and forgiveness from God.
Today I come again to hear this song seeking God's cleansing and being set free from sin, self and pride. and praying that He will fill my heart with His love and surrendering everything to Him. Goodness it has only been 4 months since I was cleansed. Thank you for sharing this song. May the Lord bless you.
KJV Psalm 139: 23-24 23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Search me, O God, and know my heart today Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray See if there be some wicked way in me Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free Search me, O God, and know my heart today Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray Listen, see if there be some wicked way in me Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine Take all my will, my passion, self and pride I now surrender, Lord, in me abide I now surrender, Lord, in me abide (abide)
I always loved this song when George Younce and Glen Payne would sit down and sing it together. It always seemed to mean so much to them. I remember the first time I ever saw the video they show in this clip I was taken aback at such a beautiful and meaning message. A message made even more powerful by the two men singing it.
I continue to see king David a man after God's own heart. In the begining was a young shepherd boy who knew God's presence with him and saving power of deliverance from the bear and the lion. Then we see him as king and despite the fact he knew his god intermittently, coveted someone elses wife and was found out. Despite that he and we know that our God is omniscient and reveals everything, even our most hidden thoughts and desires. What we need to do is acknowledge that and seek his deliverance from any other sin that maybe lurking there and cast it out. Make us more aware of sin and seek his face as David did.
This is such a fitting prayer for the day. It has the affect on the heart to calm and quiet it before the Lord. It brings a peaceful presence to humble yourself before the Lord with all your heart.
This is gorgeous in lyrics, harmony and truth! What a beautiful tribute to all the past, present and future members of this wonderful quartet. tI takes my breath away, to see men praising my Lord in this manner!
God gave Pharaoh the chance to recognize Him, but Pharaoh chose to harden his heart, to the end of his destruction. God gave David a chance for redemption and David chose repentance.
Search Me, O God was originally written in Albanian by St Teresa of Calcutta, who was a member of the Albanian Royal family. Her father was the last Albanian king before the region became part of Yugoslavia after World War I. St Teresa of Calcutta made translations of the song into other languages spoken in the Balkan Peninsula. Her mother was Croatian so that was the first language translation. Her grandmother was Bosnian so that was the second language translation. Her great grandmother passed away around the time the song was translated into her regional language of Macedonian. The next language translation was into the Kosovian language. The next translation was into German and then into the Slovenian language. Pope John Paul II used these translations of Search Me, O God during his crusades in the Balkan Peninsula in the summer of 1985. I made a language translation into Modern Greek for The Papal crusade in Grachade.
Yes Austin that was Ernie Haase right next to him is Danny Funderburk and also in the front row is Scott Fowler, Gerald Wolfe, Mark Trammell. What an amazing blessing they all brought us through their singing.
