My grandparents were the last lighthouse keepers at the Nuggets. Grew up in this area taking it for granted and doing all my dumb teenage shit at all these places. You guys definitely did this area justice and made me appreciate my youth here.
I love being near the water. Have lived in 3 different countries and never been more than 30mins from the coastline. Was just having a conversation about this with someone less than an hour ago😅 This video reminds me of our trip to England, sheep, rolling hills
As a Pisces I definitely feel it as my happy place, be it in the water, diving, fishing, or just driving or walking the shoreline, and just tasting the saltwater while swimming ❤
Dunedin is worth considering. 2nd biggest city inthe South Island and lots of amazing coastal scenery very close by out on the peninsula. Hospitality jobs too shouldn’t be too difficult to come by as well. You should visit on one of your weekends off and take the scenic road over the pig route one way and then the main road back via Roxburgh and Alexandra.
Little blue penguins are the best, the National Aquarium up in Napier has a penguin feeding 3 times a day where you can see them fairly close without have to pay silly amounts. Well, if you want to pay silly amounts you can also hand feed them I think.
What is the art shop called please…..as I saw something quickly that I liked and will look online. Thank you , I’m new to your site but really enjoyed it…enjoy our land.
Would you move to the Catlins? Is there much around in terms of businesses or a little quaint town for supplies? I am definitely a lake/coast person… need water. I’ve always lived close to a lake. It’s my dream to be somewhere with water & mountain views.
There is really not much around - but we could move somewhere like Dunedin, which we’ve heavily considered! But the South does get cold in the winter, so we will be heading north instead. If we come back next year for a 2nd working holiday visa, we may choose somewhere coastal.
@@nickandraychel when was kid and going on long trips with my parents we would come across these animal road blocks all the time and with cattle as well but they were much bigger than the one on your video
