I love how podcasts like that wanna downplay everything Kendrick did as corny, overly-serious lyrical pettiness and boil his output down to just having a better strategy than Drake. Not only is most of the info he dropped already public knowledge that people slept on, but Kendrick had themes and talking points he’s been speaking on since way before this current iteration of the beef even began. Aside from tea, this was undeniably one of the most culturally significant moments in hip hop & battle rap history. Anyone downplaying that is clearly not listening or is choosing not to hear what everyone else listened to.

Kendrick vs Drake is by far the biggest rap battle of all time in terms of numbers/attention, it was between the two biggest rap artists of the generation, it had a solid 10 years of build up, and it ended up with more songs than almost any other public rap battle. At least three of those songs are gonna be seen as disstrack classics (Euphoria, MTG, Not Like Us), and imo two of those genuinely broke new ground in the realm of rap beef and did stuff that has never been done before (MTG and Not Like Us). That's why I think it's the greatest rap beef.
Most shocking was Beanie beating Jada Kiss. No one was expecting that. PAC vs Big disqualified cause Big never DIRECTLY responded (LKGN was not direct). I’d say without being caught up in the moment, and I’m 44 years old so was there for all beefs, Ken and Drake was the best.

Beenie and jada was one song each. Most other battles wasn’t long enough and never had many rounds. Because of streaming this was the best in my opinion.
I feel like for rap battles I would rank my top 3 as 1. Nas vs jay (still debated with amazing music on both ends) 2. Kendrick vs drake (purely because of all the build up over the years) 3. Ice cube vs NWA (classic)

Wayne dissed a lot of people over the years people barely caught them. One of his best and funniest disses was at 50 cent. “ all about a dollar , f-/ two quarters (fif). I think jay and nas was the best the matchup was great and comparable in a lot of aspects but they were different enough to and both fixtures at a similar level. Kendrick and drake was interesting with all the bells and whistles. The different Artist involved Ai it had Alot of drama but it wasn’t a the best.
