The Cerebro launcher is and open source run launcher that can be used to launch applications, search the web, search for files, run shell commands, do simple math, and much more. Cerebro comes with a plugin system and has dozens of available plugins that you allow you to extend Cerebro.

For those people who doesn't like electron apps and on windows machine. I really recommend *Flow Launcher* which written in C# with community plugins support, also you can replace windows search indexer with (everything toolbar plugin).

This looks/feels just like Ulauncher to me. Just shows some extra details about the apps. Cross platform aspect is cool though, like you mentioned.

I wish there were something like Raycast (macOS app) for Linux and Windows. It's very polished and modular, but sadly not open-source... :(

Raycast will not be developed neither for windows nor linux. There’s an interview with the developer where he says that. Most likely a Raycast for iOS and iPadOS would come.

@@derekbaker_ Electron apps are webapps running inside what is essentially a chromium browser. They are generally bloated and slow because they bring the browser along with them. Also it's Chromium, so Google.

@@DHealeyas much as I agree with you, I just can't hold it against devs for using it. I wish developers were making applications without this garbage but the tools are already there. It's hard to convince a developer not to use something as accessable.

Hey, I've been using i3 for a couple of years now and I am really liking it. However I recently started using the Obsidian note keeping app and it has a feature it calls "stacked tabs". In this all the tabs you have open in the application are of a fixed width and slide overtop each other, scrolling through the tabs feels like scrolling through the pages in a book and I must say I really like it. Note that this is not the same feature as the i3 stacked or tabbed layouts Seeing as you are the 'window manager guy' I was wondering if you are aware of any windows managers out there that have a similar feature? For my main layout it will still use tiling but I have a number of workspaces that could benefit from this.

I like it, it even looks better than my current rofi :) and it is multiplatform!!! Although because of being electron I doubt I will use it in my crappy old low-end laptop, and because of that I wouldn't use it on my high-end pc, I don't like to have two different systems on them

looks ok, but I think I'll stick with ulauncher... wonder how the resource usage compares? ulauncher is python based, cerebro is electron based... I like Raycast on the Mac as it is a native app, and on Windows I use the PowerRoys Run utility which is fine for my needs.
