I love Tony’s constant positivity about the mammoth project! Nothing is too difficult for him. He just keeps talking about “cracking on”. God bless this special man and the entire family. Love watching your videos!!! 🇨🇦
I know this video is a year old but I would like to give Tony and Tracy the Grandparents award for best grandparents that ever existed on this planet !!! Much love ❤️
I am exhausted just watching you two working so hard. I thought it was hard enough renovating a six bedroom Victorian house never mind your beautiful buildings. Delighted Jonathan has a trampoline. I have one and am in my 60s. It’s hidden in the garden so that I cannot be seen ( apart from the cows in the next field). . I know it will be great fun for you all. Looking forward to your next update. Well done both of you👏👏
Two observations, what a smashing man Tony is, and, blimey Tracy would put any labourer to shame - she really knows how to graft! One small tip, normally on french windows, the hinged glazed units can quickly and easily be removed from the frames by knocking out the centre pins in the hinges. This facility is also useful when you come to paint them. Super job on the roof - very professional.
@@chateaudelalacelle I was also amazed at how hard working Tracy is. I would love to know what your plans are for the renovations - are you trying to finish the cottage so that you have a haven to live in while tackling the chateau?
These cast iron wall sinks you are finding, known as a “lavabo” were usually mounted on the outside walls of European homes. They were used for hand washing before entering the house. The one in the video would have a tap in the hole at the top and some came with their own tank which you would fill daily.
@@chateaudelalacelle You are welcome. I found them fascinating too after being gifted one several years ago and it took some time to learn what they were and how they were used *smiles*
They were also commonly found inside, at least in Austria. When the industrial revolution was in full swing, these were put in the hallway on each floor in working-class houses, where the individual tiny flats didn't have running water. In the early 20th century they were even installed in middle-class kitchens. The place I live in used to have slightly larger, square ones in all the kitchens, of course they've all been removed since. The only one left is in the former laundry room in the cellar. My dad removed the last one from a kitchen in the late 70s. For the proper look they need a flush-mounted trap and drain cover, very hard to find. If you do an image search for "Bassena" (bastardised French "bassin") you can find a few pictures of those sinks in their original habitats. You can still buy aluminium replicas that look reasonably convincing until you try to lift them.
If you can't find an appropriate spot for them inside, they would be beautiful as fountains in the garden mounted on the stone wall - maybe with trailing water plants. The soft tinkle of running water would be so soothing.
I haven’t seen any of you wearing knee pads. We bought ours in the US at a home improvement store. They Velcro around the knee and are easy to walk in. Your aging knees will thank you.
Just watched this week's vlog how you and Tracy have worked. One job after another you are making good progress. You make a good team. So pleased Johnathan likes school .
You are such a great couple and doing a fantastic job with the Chateau and Jonathan! I wish you all good health and happiness as you continue on and thank you for keeping us connected!
Wanted to thank you for making videos of all your repairs. It is not only satisfying to do the work yourselves but even taking the time to make videos of what you are doing adds to your chores. We appreciate that you are teaching us how to do it! These buildings are just amazing. So many have been abandoned but they certainly are worth the effort and investment. As other viewers have said, be careful. Safety first!
I love that you are on this chateau restoration adventure but the amount of work is daunting. I give you so much credit as you navigate renovations and caring for Jonathan. Little by little you have already accomplished so much. Stay well!💕
I have loved this channel from the beginning, but I must say that it is definitely growing on me with each vlog! I am enjoying the history and renovation aspects as well as the personalities and sweet family relationships that you are sharing with us. It seems like Tracy and Jonathan are settling in well and I’m happy to see this. I’m sending gratitude and best wishes from our beautiful vineyard in the California mountains! 😘
Tracy Working So Hard She Would Put A lot Of People To Shame. Tony Is Hard Working You Got A Lot To Do A Very Big Job But Rome Was not Build In A Day It Will Look 👀 Amazing When Done Thankyou 👍🏰
I admire you both the couple,at your age you should be retired now but you still work and do a great job!!!I've been living at Milbsborough and my daughter studied in Teeside University psychology.Bravo from Greece!!!You are brave!!!
Retired! They're young and healthy. And doing what they love. Wish them many years forward to enjoy their accomplishments. Great team effort on their part🎈😍🎈
Terry and Ash where are you two? Tony and Traci will have the Cottage and Chateau all done before you get your hands duty. Come on men forward march. Great vlog. your mum and dad are great. Happy Fathers Day Tony!
The roof and guttering looks amazing. You should be proud. Getting all of the chimneys completed will be a dream. Love your vlogs. Blessings to you all... ❤🇦🇺
Just came across your channel and I am totally engrossed! One thing I'd like to point out is that chickens take dust baths to keep clean and drink fresh water that needs to be changed daily. The water basin could be used in the future for ducks perhaps. Great channel, all the best!
You two are such a great team. Pampered chickens, spoilt grandson and never ending hard work for you two ! It looks like fun. Hope you both stay well. Good job Tracey decided to get the plaster off the bathroom wall , the stone looks great. So nice to hear Jonathan is loving school xx
The week is going to be long while I wait for the next news. I am so glad that Tracey and Jonathan are more settled now. My goodness, the two of you make a formidable working team! Well done!
👏👏👏 your family are amazing, Tony & Tracy are diamonds, their love for Jonathan melts my heart, can’t wait to see you all back together & enjoying the fruits of your labour 💗
You are doing a fantastic job on the cottage and the chimneys. Jonathan is blessed to have such nice grandparents. It's super that he is busy with the chickens.Looking forward to seeing how the bathroom and kitchen look when done. Thanks for sharing your progress.
Back breaking work you are doing Tony but you must be thrilled to have such a hard working partner like Tracy. I cannot get over how she just puts her hand to everything. It is also nice to see you are teaching your grandson how to help as well. Great vlog thank you
Wow!! Tracy and Tony you both are amazing. The work you’re doing on the cottage is lovely and I really like the idea of leaving some stone walls exposed. Thanks for sharing and have a great week !! 🥰🌼
If I ever get to stay at your Chateau - which I really hope I do in the future - I know it will be a bit unusual to see you all moving at normal speed rather than fast forward!!!! Tracey is so strong- most impressed !!!
Tracey and Tony I give you immense credit, i don’t know if I could’ve done what you have done, you really needed that inner strength. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
🇨🇦 I just stumbled across these vlogs. I am amazed at all the hard heavy work being done by Tony and his wife Tracey. Tracey works as hard as any man in construction, no wonder she stays lovely and slim! I will have to find the first postings of these vlogs, I am interested to see them. I think Tony should sell T-shirts with, Let’s get crackin!! on them.😁
The cottage is really coming along. The bathroom walls will be beautiful, I am sure. Fabulous workers Tony and Tracy!! I love watching your videos. 😀😀❤❤ Hugs to all the family!!
Lovely to see the real time transformations and all the hard work and dedication into the project. The fact that you can still have a laugh and a joke at the end of the day is absolutely heart warming. Looking forward as always to the next instalment....
Tony and Tracy. You both make for great teamwork! The construction materials are nothing I see in New Hampshire. So was interesting to watch the wall and floor removal. Our 80' long, three story dairy barn is wood construction. My father-in-law built it in 1952. I can now see the grounds design from the drone footage. You have cleaned away enough overgrowth to get a good picture of what the property originally looked like. Just stunning! This will make a stellar family home and B&B! ~ Diane
Thank you very much, yes we have definitely cleared a lot of the overgrowth away over the months. The stone wall in the bathroom will be amazing when completed 🥰
Your vlogs and the ones from Chateau de Montmagner are the best ones they show the works from amators done like professionals.Love this .Keep up the good work .You can be super proud of yourself.
I really enjoyed this video. Just the nice balance of getting work done (you guys are killing it) scenery, and chat. Good to see the little fellow happy too. You seem to have accomplished so much. Looking forward to the next time I see you
I came to say how wonderful the stone walls look in the bathroom, but everyone else has already commented on it. Lol. Amazing work. I have a child's paddling pool in my chicken pen although I've never had a chicken swim! It's easy to dump out and rinse with a garden hose.
Tony, you are a Superman, I admire you and all your beautiful workmanship. Iam watching all the videos from start to latest, you all make my day, love you all.😊❤️☮️🇺🇸
I’m guessing you guys are kinship carers, my partner and I have been kinship carers to 5 young people over the last 20 years. Outstanding undertaking. ❤️
What a beautiful wall with all the plaster off. Tiles… it looks as if you didn’t “crack” but a few. Those I’m sure you can find replacements somewhere. Keep of crackin on 😥 You are doing an amazing job and Johnathan is so helpful. Love seeing him working with his grands 🥰 Something he will be able to look back on. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Another great video, your energy and skills seem relentless. The cottage is looking really good and I hope the chimneys are sorted soon, massive job. Lovely to see Jonathan bouncing about, I hope he’s enjoying school. He’ll soon be a little French boy and start speaking for you 😂 Do the schools finish for summer soon? Lots of luck x
Nice. Each step forward is an incredible accomplishment, especially hard labor. To me, it’s satisfying, instant gratification. Big respect and admiration to you two.
I'm loving your videos. I discovered your RU-vid videos and I'm hooked. I started from episode 1 and watch at least two videos a day. I don't want to miss anything. I love your family. Terry you are very blessed to have Tony and Tracy so on board and being so handy. They are brilliant. I look forward to seeing your dream come true.
That sink is really cool ... So glad you plan to use elsewhere. I find it amazing the tiles are laid directly on the earth, no barrier. Thank goodness no moisture is under there. You made a quick job of removing the tiles. That sounds good with the fireplace . Goodness, that is in bad shape. So glad you are saving this beautiful home that was once magnificent. You take pride and put thought into the restorations you are making. So enjoyable to follow your progress. Thank you for sharing. Goodness, that looks great, you hardly can tell and I think as you said in a couple of years, you will not notice the new rendering. It seems these jobs you are doing with Tracie's help seem to go more quickly. You are a good team. I love how they have used the stones and how nice the wall looks now.
Thank you very much, yea we want to keep as many original features as possible, and the floors will be beautiful when restored. The chimney is definitely coming along and is now all safe 🙏🥰
I can't believe how much work you 2 get done....it's amazing at this rate you'll be in by Christmas, well done to you, I love your work ethic you just keep at it... And the bathroom walls are amazing I can't wait to see them pointed and sealed they will be a real feature I'm so pleased Jonathan likes school it's a worry off your shoulders I'm sure
Backbreaking work putting the effort into keeping those tiles. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end! I have to say I really appreciate that your videos are edited so thoughtfully; no pomp or ceremony just straightforward hard work clearly showing all of the progress you're making. Loving watching these!
