not for every government officer, I am in govt department from 3 years but its getting difficult day by day for me to even meet basic needs, education, bills

Shahadat is mandatory for the sighting of moon.. doesn't matter in which era you are living in..In ancient times also there were people who were very much sound in knowledge of stars and moon without scientific equipments also..but still sighting of moon required..
One thing I have learned doing dynamic simulations is that garbage in = garbage out. Technology has its limitations. Earthquakes and weather patterns cannot be predicted accurately so please spare us the tech talk.

Junaid bhai you raised an important point about the public money that is wasted. However, I wanted to clarify a misconception that many people have about moon sightings. An app can be used to tell if the new moon cycle has started or not. While the issue of commencing the month of Ramadan is dependent upon the actual sighting of the moon i.e through a human eye. The hadith that tells us this has the word صُوْمُوْا ِلرُؤْيَتِهِ "fast when you SEE the new moon" Therefore, if because of a cloudy wheater, we are unable to see the moon, we proceed to the second criterion for Ramadan i.e the 30 days of Shaban (the month before Ramadan) have been completed. One can also ask about this issue from the scholars.

You do know back then there was literally no environmental pollution so you could see the moon with human eye. Today it is different, it is hard to see the moon with human eye these days due to pollution and all. Embrace the tech and use it. But yeah resistance will always be there similar to azaan on loud speakers case and displaying namaz times on clock in mosques. Islam is an evolving religion but the so called ulmas have regressed it.

Asalaam O Alaikum Brother Junaid, Excellent video on the lack of sense and sensibility about Israaf and insight. All points taken except please look at why the moon sighting is important in the light of science itself. Yes, you can have prediction accurately for only a period of time because of a phenomenon that is called Three Body Problem. Three bodies being Earth, Moon and Sun. The jist is that if there are two bodies moving parallel to each other and don't change the course of direction, you can predict very accurately but when there is a third body that revolves around them then there is always going to be some disturbance. That disturbance here, could be the cause of deviation in the exact birth of the moon after a few cycles. If we speak about the Islamic perspective, then Islam leaves us a lot of room to utilize technology and it doesn't lock us in a box of thinking. However, there are very few acts that have been instructed by the Prophet (SAW) to be explicitly performed and moon sighting is one of them. The point is, moon sighting is absolutely a juzv but how they are doing it is absolutely questionable. Thanks Imran
