Three last sentences of Memories of Ice were truly heartbreaking. Especially if you loved Deadhouse Gates.

Coltaine. A leader who make Malazan Army a beast. That was destroyed not because enemies... But because betrayal in thier ranks. And in the end? Its was just ploy. Great Shaik Rebelion eat itself. And the same murders and fanatics kill eachother to beg Malazan masters to forgive them.
