I like the psychological reason behind the blue smoke, I think it fits in well with what's happening with Apollo since the show strongly hints that there is more to him than meets the eye. Another thing I keep wondering...if blue represent Fairies and red represent Witches in the show then could it be that Apollo is a cross breed?? Throughout the show he worn a mix of both. His beany actually started out as red. He wore blue when he was sent the message and went to meet with William. I honestly don't think and adult body could hold in the red suitcase but a child's body could and that's what I think is in it. Am just not sure it's the changeling. I really do hope there will be a season 2 because I believe both Emma and Apollo are at the center of something much greater and they are way more powerful than we think
After watching episode 7 (Lillian’s episode), I think this show is as much about mental health and the powerless people who are living a real life of horror at the hands of humans, as much as it is about a magical world with scary magical creatures. It’s entirely possible that this is an ode to the ‘forgotten people’ whose horrors in life have thrown them into generational mental health trauma. Usually they say people with poor mental health “are away with the fairies”. I personally think the ‘two worlds’ or the two interpretations (of reality and fantasy) inform each other. Can you really suffer from mental illness without having your reality challenged and can reality really exist without a parallel fantasy running alongside it?
While I don’t want it to end, I do wonder what more is there once we understand what is happening. I don’t want them to drag it out too long as it may lose its essence and we’ve seen this happen with shows like, Lost, Manifest etc
I love these theories but I think Lilian is the key not his dad. I think the man that came to the island was Apollos dad trying to save him from the witches. I do believe the books Apollo received were from the suitcase that’s why his mom had such a shocked reaction when she saw them.
Just to add to this, the color blue seems to be an indicator of something. Blue eye for the woman on the lagoon in Brazil. Blue glow around Emma. Blue hair on the puppet. Blue sheet used to unveil the photograph. Blue smoke from Brian’s mouth. I’m sure I’m missing more
I think another creator has mentioned that blue may tie to fairies and red to witches. I'm convinced there is some sort of meaning like you're saying, but Idk what it is either. It's probably going to be super obvious when it's revealed.
I’m telling thou, that Patrice is up to no good . Now in the book, he actually is a really good friend and a standup dude but they’re of course not gonna do the show exactly like the book maybe some scenes and dialogue yes but they’re going to add to the show and some creative liberties, I’m sure , will be done . I theorize that Patrice and William a.k.a. kindergarten are a part of this network of online trolls who’s been doing this for years and maybe Patrice saw a sorceress picture the way William saw Emma’s. He became a manifested “online troll”, the name Knudsen is Anglicize Norwegian, so that’s gonna say something. I think that the guy who had the picture he’s office is Williams brother and as far as the goes, But Patrice showed who he is with that , one that encounter with the lady in the bookstore, and his name is Patrice😂
