I actually think there is some value to the 3+ week layoff between conference championship weekend and playoff bowls. Ensures the teams are well-rested for the big games and builds a lot of suspense. As a Longhorns fan I love the anticipation I have for next Monday! I don't follow the signing day/transfer portal stuff too closely so no harm there. I also diverge with Joel in that I like the current 4-team playoff format and think they should stick with it. Having the expanded playoffs will take the stakes and excitement out of the best regular season in all of sports!

- Get rid of this NIL nonsense - Make the players actually attend class - Punish teams that cheat like UM - Minimum standardized SAT scores to play (make it semi-tough) - Hard scholarship limits - Extreme oversight of the southern schools - 10 game schedule - 6 team playoff - No bowl games - Sit out to transfer - No redshirts (4 years you're done, no more 26 year old players) - Mandatory academic progress testing on a standardized level (no more Bama players that can't read so good)

I would add one more change: non-playoff bowl games are moved to the beginning of the season. Let's face it, with the teams that aren't in a playoff, some of their best players are: 1) not playing b/c they're gonna prepare for the NFL Draft, 2) not playing b/c they're entering the Transfer Portal, 3) not playing b/c they're being disciplined for something they did during the long layoff. ...That's just the players, a good chunk of coaches are also not going to be with their original teams either. Add it all up and you have a recipe for the worst post-season in sports ...period.

Take the top 2 teams out of EVERY conference THAT DID NOT GET SELECTED FOR THE 12. . Assign bowl games in a playoff system to determine the best conference in the nation. THINK OF IT AS PRO BOWL, ALL STAR GAME for college football

College students take finals in December. Please remember they are STUDENTS at least in theory.

This argument has been debunked. FCS (Formerly D-2) has had a play-off for what seems like forever. They have no issues doing both.

SEC 18 national championships in the past 25 yrs with 6 schools. Every other conference has 2 or less lol

I would have conference championship weekend then the next week would be Signing day for early enrollees only then the next week would be the start playoffs transfer protal opens up the day after the national championship game then national signing day is moved back to February for the kids enrolling in the fall
