The school I went to the longest often times didn’t want to nurture our questions. They often would discourage it. They just wanted to get through the lesson.
If you happen to be a teacher, it is your duty to seek out those who would otherwise be forgotten. Don't let politics dictate a child's future when they can be great. I'll be damned to stay silent on the subject.
Schools are notorious for dropping the ball on this depending on the public standing of the family. For example, students in the surrounding schools and my school would be given extra attention and classes if they were part of Upper-Class families. Less wealthy, highly gifted students were not given such an opportunity. I for one had been writing my own children's stories, reading Newspapers, and being tutored in Algebra since 1st grade. I wish to advocate for the unprivileged gifted children
@tegskkace...my son just.started Kinder & he is about the lvl of grade1-2 & reads on his own...i think his class isnt gonna challenge him enough so im writing a refferal for testing...he already said.he.is all for it too.
