DJ Chark signed with the Los Angeles Chargers and here are some highlights and a breakdown of his fit with Jim Harbaugh, Greg Roman, and why Joe Hortiz signed him. The Chargers aren't done adding WRs as they had a visit with Tyler Boyd after meeting with him before the NFL Draft. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, DJ Chark, Tyler Boyd, and Odell Beckham Jr. are the veteran Free Agent WR options I could see the Chargers signing.
Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz completed the 2024 NFL Draft with 9 selections and 1 trade and came away with great players. PFF, ESPN, The Ringer, The Athletic and almost every NFL reporter gave the Chargers draft grade an A.
The Chargers signed 21 UDFA after the 2024 NFL Draft and they were: Karsen Barnhart, Casey Bauman, Luke Benson, Akeem Dent, Jaelen Gill, Thomas Harper, Zach Heins, Savion Jackson, Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste, Leon Johnson, Jaylen Johnson, Robert Kennedy, Micheal Mason, Tre'Mon Morris-Brash, Tyler McLellan, Willis Patrick, Jalyn Phillips, Tyler Smith, Zamari Walton, Luquay Washington, Bucky Williams.
The Chargers drafted Joe Alt, Ladd McConkey, Junior Colson, Justin Eboigbe, Tarheeb Still, Cam Hart, Kimani Vidal, Brenden Rice, and Cornelius Johnson.
Brenden Rice was drafted to the Chargers in the 7th round this is the steal of the draft potentially! Cornelius Johnson and Kimani Vidal are also drafted in the 6th and 7th round but also keep an eye out for UDFA signings. The Chargers drafted Cam Hart in the 5th round, Chargers drafted Tarheeb Still in the 5th round and the Chargers drafted Justin Eboigbe from Alabama with the 4th round pick on day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Here is a film breakdown scouting report and analysis of him in Jesse Minter and Jim Harbaugh's defense with Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Tuli Tuipulotu.
The Chargers selected Junior Colson in the 3rd round of the 2024 NFL Draft after drafting Ladd McConkey in the 2nd round and Joe Alt in the 1st round. Who will Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz draft on day 3? Need to get some CB help for sure, Khyree Jackson?
Joe Alt was drafted at 5th overall in the 2024 nfl draft by the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz REALLY want to establish the run and protect Justin Herbert. My question is, can Joe Alt catch the football still, he played TE in high school...
J.K. Dobbins signs to the Chargers and JK Dobbins signing to the Los Angeles Chargers means more to me than you think. What does this mean for Isaiah Spiller and Elijah Dotson? Will the Chargers draft a RB in the 2024 NFL Draft or in UDFA?
Jim Harbaugh talked to the media about the importance of the offensive line and Rashawn Slater, Zion Johnson, Bradley Bozeman, Jamaree Salyer, Trey Pipkins, and even Jordan McFadden! He also talked about the Chargers pick at 5 in the nfl draft in 2024, a trade down, or they might be forced to stay at 5th overall if the arizona cardinals, minnesota vikings, denver broncos, new york jets, new york giants, and new england patriots all aren't willing to cooperate in their favor.
Jim Harbaugh has now officially hired Jesse Minter, Greg Roman, Andy Bischoff, NaVorro Bowman, Marcus Brady, Steve Clinkscale, Shane Day, Mike Devlin, Mike Elston, Chris Gould, Sanjay Lal, Rick Minter, Robert Muschamp, Chris O'Leary, Dylan Roney, Marc Trestman, and Ryan Ficken.

DJ Chark was probably the best of the available Free Agent WRs and was DEFINITELY the best fit for us. I think Odell Beckham Jr. may have been the highest ceiling WR but they signed DJ Chark for a very low money deal which allows them even more flexibility to trade during the season. Something tells me they are going to find a really good WR or SOMETHING during the season in a trade... ⚡

Odell Beckham hasn’t done anything in 4 years. I think DJ isn’t a better player but I would rather have Chark because of the deep speed is good to complement the other receivers. Also Jared Goff is very misunderstood. I think he is super accurate and throws dimes. He had a way better season than Herbert when Herbo was healthy, not that I think Goff is better but he is very good.

This signing has a similar skill set to LSU WR Brian Thomas, the consolation prize to Malik Nabers. He will stretch the field and open up the run, as well as underneath routes. The Chargers loved Brock Bowers route running and suddeness after the catch, they grab Ladd McConkey, who has a similar game. This front office is brilliant in my opinion. Best of all, they will be ever vigilant, eyes wide open for any player who gets waived. We are #5 on the waiver wire! If we need help during the year, our front office will find the help.

The superior coaching and having better run game/protection for Herbert, the WR's will be fine. Chark is so underrated at this point, his ball tracking is really good, his ability to hold onto contested balls is really good, great size and speed, his route tree is a bit limited but he's great on crossers and vertical routes. He's also pretty good in the RedZone, he showed some of that in Detroit. But he benefits greatly from good quarterback play, someone who will trust him to make a play on the ball and will give him good ball placement. He wasnt used well at all in Carolina which was good for you guys cause he was cheap.

@@michaelbell75 Obviously you don't understand football. Use Google. Herbert owns every rookie record over a players 1st 3 seasons. If he can be as good as Mike Williams I'll take that. We have McConckey who does good routes, got several speedy guys. Got some blocking/lunch pail receivers like Rice and Johnson. Having a true 50/50 completes the package. If you've got several receivers that are good at different things you don't always need a #1. Though I'm curious who the odd man out is. You've got QJ, Palmer, Chark, Davis, McConkey, Rice, and Johnson. I can see them trying to make room for 6 receivers. 7 seems doubtful. They might be cutting one. As much as i love him, it might be Palmer due to Davis being a second team All Pro return guy. Unless they think one or both of the new guys can fill that role.

He's going to be able to stretch the field for us if he plays. So now we have Palmer with the most experience with the team and the system, QJ who was our #1 pick last year and assumably will be pushed into a greater role, McConkey who was just drafted #5 in the 2nd round so you'd think that would mean they expect him to play a decent amount, and now Chalk who is basically a faster but not as good version of Williams and just as injury prone. At least we're saving up to 10M on him. Combine this with several veteran TE's signed and what appears to be a running focused offense and that means one or more of those guys isn't going to get much playing time. So, which one is it? I know Palmer is the least talked about, but I actually think he's got the best shot at having a good year. And where TF is Guyton?

I actually think Palmer might be the one on the bubble, sad to say. We're probably only keeping 5 receivers plus a dedicated returner (Davis). With this, we've got: QJ, Palmer, Davis, McConkey, Rice, Johnson, Chark. More than likely one of them is on the bubble. Rice has legit potential and Johnson has value as a blocker/special teams guy. Meanwhile, Chark and Palmer have similar skill sets but Chark doesn't have the injury issues Palmer has had. Is it possible they either cut or trade QJ? Yes, but I find that less likely.

This isnt college. Harbaugh's NFL teams have been balanced. Look at that 2012 SF SB season. 492 runs and 436 passes. 30 runs/27 pass attempts a game, about as balanced as you can get. Herbert is much better than Smith and Kapernick. So I would expect him to average more like 30-32 attempts a game which is perfect.
@Quantum_Humanics
@Quantum_Humanics Месяц назад
@@michaelbell75 that's not balanced if a team averaged 30 runs and 27 passes they would be in the top 5 of most run heavy teams in the league last season. And even a pass heavy team isn't likely to carry more than 6 recievers, last year the chargers carried 5.

Basically splitting between rush attempts and passes. Buffalo was 3rd in rush attempts last year and no one considers them a run heavy team.

Meh. Hes an injury prone, average WR3 who hasn't had more than 35 for 525 in FOUR years and that was with two great QBs in Lawrence and Goff. Carolina didnt even want him back after last year. Dude is washed. Id much rather the playing time go to the rookies and younger guys who need the reps. We already know what Chark is, and hes not good.

Never had a good QB throwing him the ball? Seriously? Goff went to a Super Bowl, has been a top 3 QB the past two years and was just in the NFC championship game last year. What has Herbert ever done? I like your videos but thats a clown take. Chark was still an average WR3 with 30 for 502 in Detroit. They didnt even want him back lol. Goff got to the NFC championship game last year without Chark somehow! Chark is not good.

@@danielfernandez1129 again, he went to a Super Bowl in one system and just went to the NFC Championship in a completely different system. So which system are you talking about. By the way, Goff is one of only 4 QBs to do that. The others were Brady, Manning and Kurt Warner. Herbert hasn’t even won a single playoff game. On top of that, Goff has been a top 3 QB in both passing yards and QBR the past two seasons. Once again, you are clueless.

@@michaelbell75 look youre just a Herbert hater through and through and i repsect that you own it. I dont think you completely understand what a system QB is. just because he was in two high level systems does not negate the fact he is a system QB. Herbert has more talent than Goff ever wishes he did. The stats are remarkably similar between then two. you sound like a child "once again you are clueless" grow up you clown
