Judging by the amount in the bank in the first final, clearly at least 3 or 4 of them took the low offer. Yet, if *any of them* had not secured their place in the final, all would’ve lost, because the chaser managed to get within 1. This is why I always advocate the low offer. It’s not a sign of cowardice and selfishness; sometimes it can be the extra step-both in terms of HTH and final chase-that makes the difference between winning and losing.
