Here’s what I appreciate about you and your channel. Realism Your shop looks like it’s actually used instead of a Hollywood set. Sawdust everywhere, metal duct fittings….👍

I have the 13" model of this vevor planer and its served me well over the past year. I had to adjust the in and out feeds to reduce snipe and I'm really happy with it

Thanks for the honest review. I keep telling myself I need a planer but in reality I probably do not and your video help to confirm that 😊

I've purchased lumber that is already planed many times, but too many times it's been bowed enough that it would be too thin after reworking it. If I buy surfaced 4/4 lumber its generally 13/16, and I've been bitten too many times trying to remain at 3/4's from there. So now I just buy rough and surface it myself. I'm lucky to have a 20" helical in my shop. It just sucks emptying the dust bin all the time.

The difference in planers - and with most things made today - isn't that they work today or next week but how do they work in 6 months or even a few years down the road? Admittedly, I've owned waay too many planers in my life. Everything from cheap, bolt-together lunchbox units to woodmaster 718 (still own), 1950's era Powermatic 100 and Delta 22-101, on up to Crescent P-24" planers. Some have been upgraded to Shelix heads which for me is a must but realize it comes with a penalty and that is the need for more HP when compared to a straight knife machine. The Woodmaster bridges the gap between the toy/lunchbox planers and an industrial machine with heavy, cast frames. It would be a worthwhile upgrade vs any lunchbox planer. The thing about the vintage tools is even after 50 or 70 years they still perform the same as they did when new and they'll continue doing it - day in and day out - for another 50 or 70 years without a complaint. IMHO anyone shopping for a 12" class planer should look long and hard for a Powermatic 100 or Delta 22-101 planer for a good price and put some elbow grease into it to clean it up. If needed put a Shelix head and bearings in it (an afternoon job) and you have yourself the top of the food chain in a 12" planer. In your lifetime you'll never think about another planer again unless you need to go wider, in which case start looking at a vintage 18" planer. Virtually anything made prior to the 1970's.

You’re awesome man, thanks for sharing what you know 🎉 I tried that bora stand for my chop saw, its massive! And damn heavy 😂 ended up giving it to my Nieghbor 😅 its in the perfect spot of not portable, but not stout enough to be better then something built for a shop 😅

How much time did you spend looking through stock videos for this vid?

The amount of time watching the download bar for each individual clip was much more impressive

Unfortunately brand new it choked and tripped the overload when it hit a knot. Couldn't cut 2mm like it said, on pine. Very powerless compared to my old ridgid.

Am I crazy or is the planer lopsided af?
@HamiltonDilbeck
@HamiltonDilbeck Год назад
Not crazy, it was dented in shipping like I talked about
@MikeGusFifteen
@MikeGusFifteen Год назад
@@HamiltonDilbeck As soon as I commented, you said it in the video that it was damaged in shipping lol. I assume it affects how high the planer can travel then, since it appears to kinda pinch off as it goes higher. Though I can't imagine myself having to plane anything thicker than a few inches.
