I changed my e-Reader from Paperwhite 3 to Kobo Libra 2, and now I have Boox Leaf. But when i see kindle basic 2022 i wanna down grade to it, I miss small size and kinda missing the feeling of throwing a compact kindle around the house

I've been enjoying my Kindle Basic (2022) though I am not used to the e-ink ghosting, it still is an amazing little device. Using the free 3 month trial of Kindle Unlimited too! So much to read on one little device!

Bought my first kindle just before Christmas and I was so torn between this one and the Paperwhite! Both have exceptional reviews, and even though it feels like a large amount of money upfront (especially around Christmas time), the fact that kindle books are generally cheaper (or can be downloaded for free) really helped justify the decision for me. Ultimately it came down to the fact Amazon had a 20% offer on at the time, and the Paperwhite had a much shorter lead time

This model really is the bomb. Amazon changing its stance on epub has made a huge difference. Being able email epubs to your device does away with the need for cables or a computer, a bonus. I have the denim version. The increase in space is a bonus definitely a better value proposition than the basic Paperwhite. I love the fact it can fit in one hand comfortably and is my ereader on the go. I just need to decide if I want to add stickers to the back to personalise it 😆 🤣.

If you get you kindle books off your account via calibre, deregister the kindle, then start it, the adds are not there and you use the book your reading as title page. Basically amazon deliberately block features when you register the device, for a few extra quid.

I prefer the kindle basic b/c the screen doesn’t feel like you’re staring at your phone. Much better on the eyes than kindle paperwhite.

Pretty soon you're going to have stacks of Kindles in the attic. I had one of the basic Kindles a million years ago and it seems like the quality has improved.

I did a bit of an ereader splurge for Christmas buying a new Kobo Libra 2 and this new basic Kindle. Both were on sale here in Canada and although I am still a dedicated Kobo user, I do like the basic Kindle. I use it mainly for the few titles not available on Kobo or a sale title. I loaded the Kindle with the complete Ian Fleming James Bond books for $1.99 shortly after I got it as a convenience although I already own them in paperback to justify my indulgence😄.

My favorite kindle is so old and I don’t remember what it’s called but it’s very small. Like 5 inches by 6. The size is why it’s great. It fits everywhere pocket purse etc. I’m going to be devastated when it dies. Thanks for keeping us up to date on kindles as they’re such a big part of reading now.

do you feel that the contrast and readability is better than the PW? Since there isn't an extra layer (the flush screen that the PW has).

It's cute, but for a regular price of $130 and $100 on sale...Pass. I have 2 Kindle Fires which are cheaper, and for portability, I have the app on my phone. I like the unboxing and review info, though! And I'll continue to love KU.

I've still got an old junker with the keyboard, so the screen on this is quite large compared to that. I've used one of these and have been thinking of upgrading, but I just dont like the price for what it is. They do feel quite cheap. Might wait until they go on sale.

Do you actually need a smaller Kindle? I could only think that there is a place you’re going with a greater degree of damage or theft.

Rubbery feels is a disadvantaege for ne. In time it will get sticky

So what is your multiple kindle setup. Do you leave them all on with WiFi in different areas to update your reading progress? Do you leave them all charging?

I love the kindle paperwhite 11th generation in agave green BUT I am a smaller woman and it is quite large. I love the warm feature on it but it’s simply uncomfortable. I just ordered the kindle basic in black and the plan is to use that one on the go and the paperhwhite at home. If I end up not using the PW, I will most likely sell it!

I also have a kindle, my daily driver(reader), but there is always the feeling of being robed when I see the phisical book priced the same as the kindle edition. Are there any other that feel the same? I mean the ebook has no logistics overhead(except data transfer when buying).

I love my little basic Kindle which I bought in the lovely denim blue colour. It's very light and compact. The only thing missing for me is the warm light feature, I read on dark mode instead when needed. I also have an Oasis on which I read at home.

I have the kindle base model and the scribe. The scribe I use at home and the base goes in a pocket when I am on the go. Would like the warm light but since I won’t be using it in the dark so really no worries.

Hey olly! Thoughts on kobo? That’s the ecosystem I’m in and I love it. Always curious about kindle though.
