Great episode, thanks for doing the shopping 🛒 effort! Next time do a guest visit to Cactus 🌵 in Luxembourg ;) And a couple of observations. First, prices in Carrefour differ depending on the store type for some categories - e.g. in Hyper will be generally cheaper than in Market. Cora, at least in my region, has really good prices for fresh meat, poultry and fish. But probably it's different in Brussels. Delhaize, on the other hand, has quite expensive meat and fish, but some good deals for some categories. At the end, depending on the preferences, store proximity - you might end up doing groceries in different store brands, depending on what you buy.
WOW, what a great work you guys put out here! I find this video super helpful as I, too, compare the prices of each store to see where I can make every cent count. I mostly shop at AH for weekly groceries as it's the closest to my apartment. When I have to buy more meat than usual or need household items, I go to Lidl :)
Thanks so much for this, really helpful!! I am moving to Belgium in about 5 months to study, and I really need to know where to buy food and save some change! If not I'll be eating instant soup every day 🙃
You really went for the literally cheapest products, often the supermarkets' own "budget" brand. Most Belgians will go for their favorite products. You should check for instance how much the Nutella chocolate spread costs in each supermarket and if it is even available.
