Great video. I'm currently finishing up my 10th Tamiya kit and love them. You aren't going be jumping over houses or going mega fast (without some serious upgrades) with a Tamiya but I love driving all of mine and they look amazing on the shelf
I realy like this channel, I like the way you explain all the pro's and con's off the hobby. I finished my new build (brx01) and I love this car...this is the smooth ride I always wanted. My translation to English is maybe not super but you now what I mean. Greetings from the Netherlands in Europa..
BEST VID EVER!!! That witch didn't deserve you bro! Love the rant! I'll forgive the slight comment about the Mitsu being superior to the Almighty Subaru!👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾
@@10thScaleGarage unpopular opinion but i feel that i love them both both are great offroad both are amazing to look at and both are complete and utter demons
I've just bought one of these and what intimidates me is the painting of the shell it's gunna be my first time building a kit as I normally buy rtr but I thought I want to learn how to be able to repair my rc myself and I think this is the best way great car by the way 👌👍
First time stumbling onto your channel. I'm addicted to building rc cars. I don't even drive them. I just build them. I always overlook this Subar, but I like how you did the green and gold. I may pick one up. Thanks for the idea. P.s. The next Farrah I meet is getting the F-Boy treatment. Put that on the Bro Code...
This video hit all the right notes! I want to build this kit just to remind me of all the useful bits of knowledge dropped just in this particular video! Slow clap 👏 Great content!
Damn, dude, you did a great job painting that shell! I personally am a fan of the BRZ, so this is appealing. Just a bit hesitant where it has oil shocks and plastic gears. Definitely something to think about.
I actually prefer the stock shocks over oil filled. Crazy, I know, but the chassis is too stiff with oil shocks in my opinion. It compromises the handling.
@@10thScaleGarage depends on the shocks too. don't know if a 4 pack of A285004's would be good on it, they're just 13-14 bucks a set. springs aren't super strong, threaded bodies, small bore oil filled, about 64 mm length (eyelet center to center). the stock shocks on DT-02 are friction damping and work beautifully, when the car starts getting bouncy, just rinse the shocks clean with alcohol and let them dry. the silicone tubing collects dust and moisture then loses damping, is time to wash their insides.
To smooth up the drive shaft assembly of course bearings. Put a orange o-ring in the rear prop shaft joint (the part where the prop shaft slides into. Put a .03mm shim in between the bearing and the prop shaft joint that sits behind the gear. This will be at the rear end. So when installing it’s shim->bearing->gear. This will remove the play in the spur. Get a 4 pack of the cheap eBay unjoint drive shafts. Make sure you buy the ones that utilize the stock drive cups. To get rid of the steering slop you will need the following as a minimum. You will need the full turnbuckle kit which is cheap and tightens up the end links significantly .You will need the 3x18 and 3x14 low friction step screws they are hex and a silver color. This will smooth out the steering rack and get rig of the rest of the slop. You may need a shim at the top. The last link to get rid of the slop will be the servo saver. It’s up to you if you want to do this but it will handle great after this. You can really go crazy with the hop-ups but this is the minimum
First off, sorry about the relationship stuff. I have no doubt that better things await you. Speaking of RC. Are there any real benefits to the TT02 D (Drift)? I am not looking for a pure drifter and do enjoy kit building. I have a few older Tamiyas that I am trying to rebuild, albeit slowly. Parts can be hard to get (Gravel Hound, Mad Bull, Dark Impact). Keep producing entertaining and informative content 👌
I've got the Honda NSX tt02. A few hours on the chassis, twice that cutting and placing stickers!!! I also put the honda civic hatch tamiya body on my LC racing rally car. Same story, several hours of sticker application. As for your ex, Cee U Next Tuesday. 👋
building it your self teaches you how it works and how to repair it when something goe's wrong and how to upgrade it if you want to. Did it with the TT01 years ago.
Part of the reason you buy the Tamiya kit is for the body and the decals. They have old rally cars, new rally cars, 90's Touring cars, GT500 cars, GT3 cars....
> Says Jeff C’s car has “pretty much EVERY Tamiya hop-up available”. >Car still uses that kit air scoop motor cover, stock steering linkage and heavy front air dam. Bro, wut…? You haven’t seen what “every hop-up available” looks like until you’ve seen a RR. Or my TT-02 for that matter.
Yo do you use a mic? If so which one? You and I created our channels around the same time brother. I took a 1/2 year break and you're killing it!!! KEEP IT UPPPP
Well, I don't really want to say this, I don't wanna hear the grief. But, I feel like, with the exception of bodies! But, I think about this manufacturer the same way I feel about Farrah and other people's farts. Mine are great but some of y'all need to change up that roadkill diet. And there at the end, You mentioned the other r/c car unmentionable, definitely who Farrah left for. The body looks great.
Finished my WRX a week ago, but I used the decals... the decal PTSD is real... I'm happy with the results though... to the point of not wanting to use it lol even if I got a few upgrades...
I built a TT02 with the ford turbo capri body (still needs paint.) our local hobby shop does racing once a month. I’m either just busy or working, haven’t had the time to run it. It’s a box stock class too.
I paid £83 for my M05 chassis.NSU TT princess.great fun even though it's front wheel drive 👍👍and building tamiyas drives me nuts lol.still lots of enjoyment
I'm currently shopping for one of these kits myself. I just can't decide on which body I want to get. I think we would enjoy seeing a video of your Tamiya racing series.
TT02 will provide satisfaction for a long time, lots of potential. Only downside is no slipper clutch, and is NOT a hop-up that is offered that I'm aware of.
Hay I want to get into the hobby but I don't know what to get. What would you recommend? I'm an adult with only two working fingers due to the other eight being missing. I'm also blind in one eye. I was thinking about the Infraction 6s.
The infraction is wicked, however it’s not what I would call, “low maintenance”. They just released a 3S version that is easier to drive, easier to work on, cheaper to run, cheaper to buy and parts are easy to find. Obviously you should buy what makes you happy, but the 6S infraction can be a lot to handle for a beginner.
I have one already with a custom shell and wheels, I’m getting into drifting and I don’t know whether to spend the 200 bucks to get the yeah racing rwd drift conversion and a brushless system, should I go for it?
You may have regrets, Look into a Yokomo kit...spend a couple bucks more. TT02 was designed to be a Buggy, you may be more satisfied with a platform designed to drift.
@@andrewsouthern3517 Right on Andrew, you'll find so many vids supporting this opinion. I have a TT02 converted 2wd all blinged out. It's a great 2nd RC for a friend to join.
@@rodf73 yup, TT can drift but its an AWD rally car, can be converted RWD but might as well get a RWD kit that's more tunable to begin with if you want to RWD drift. Yokomo or Sakura are decent candidates.
Do you get the FTX brand over in America? Iv got an FTX Banzai rtr with a cheap brushless conversion. Put a Killerbodys Nissan Skyline prepainted body on it. All in for less than £200 and it rips. I'm sure the chassis is nearly the same as the Tamiya.
@@10thScaleGarage just a nice cheap platform for people who don't want to build from scratch. Keep up the good work. Love the amount of variety of rc you cover 🤘
Sorry to hear about the debauchery brother, bitches ,what can ya say ,at least you still have your l👀KS 😁✌️ and I completely agree ,building your own is the way to go , heads up bro ✌️
They are great scale cars I just always ruin them buy over powering them and driving like I stole it. On road car let's jump it. My first car in the 90s was a superior superhornet had a couple tbo2 also
