An introduction to the Cheb rig. The Cheburashka rig. Aka a brilliant, versatile and effective finesse Weedless option for your Zman baits and all your general plastics! I want to do a few videos focusing in on a few of the rigs I use this time of year to fish for Big Perch and anything else that loves something creeping along the bottom. I've not had much time recently with work and daylight hampering my efforts but I managed to sneak in two hour long sessions this week and this is the end result. I managed to bank lovely Chub and some tiny perch (only one made the cut the others were smaller than you would believe) 😂🤦‍♂️ but I guess that's not the point of the video and also it's fishing, you can't catch a unit on every cast. If you could we would probably all get bored... eventually 😉😂 Like always I hope this video is useful and enjoyable. It's not exhaustive and I'm sure I've missed some obvious stuff but if you haven't tried the Cheb rig DOOOOO it! Nice one mate you got there in the end, don't you just love the strange names we come up with for our rigs no matter what style of fishing we are doing! Well I've invented one myself and it's called the egg nog rig! What you do is take a large bottle of egg nog fishing with you and if you don't catch anything drink the egg nog and then jump into the canal pissed and catch them between your teeth! It's very effective try it!!! Lol 🥴🤪😂😂😉🎣👍

Another informative vid, I had some good success with the cheb rig, fishing finesse shadz, last winter, taking fish to 2.11lb. Oh and I’ve just received that rod too, hoping to christen it at the weekend. Keep them vids coming 👍🏻

Hi well I got some plastics and on my first session, less than 20 mins in cold conditions got my first pike. Only small but fun on an ultralight rod! Cheers Bill

Useful video!.. I ordered some cheb weights etc just yesterday.. looking forward to trying them.. nice to see a video where someone actually admits to blanking or just pulling out a couple ( as I do often!).. get a bit tired of the heavily edited videos where baits are reported to be constantly ‘smashed’ or ‘crushed’ etc 😂 👍

Great video, it’s good to shows the lean periods when it’s about wetting the line over n over to catch. I’m having good success with Westin stickleback down on my local cut, give em a try mate.

Love your vids, carp angler for years , bought a boat on the trent so a small set up for this kind of fishing is ideal .... had a few so far . Including a lovely perch , had no scales but must have been up near 4 lb ..... keep the vids coming ...

Nice chub. I use the cheb rig pretty much all the time, at the moment Isome worms on a really small size 6 worm hook with 2gram cheb weight have work for me. Some nice perch and chub being caught.

You can always use a small piece of silicone tube to hold the bait on easier than float stops

Def would reccomend using like a size 1 or even 2 for the bugz as it seems.. You can catch more and the bait will fit on the hook better

Hi mate! cheers for watching 1/0 and 1 are my go too's but size 2 also works! I'm not really having an issue with catch rate but the smaller the hook the more the action will change 100%! 👊🙌

Adam on E bay Gamakatsu Worm EWG offset Hooks + Silicone Stoppers Weedless in sizes 4 , 2 , 1 , 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0 Might save you Stabbing your self I use them for Bass Fishing in the bigger sizes with z-man baits but put the stop the other end.

Hi Dave! Thanks mate! Ah man that's annoying would have been great to meet you. I fished the Ned rig all day with a mixture of TRD Bugs and Finesse TRD's all from Zman as usual. It was hard but we found the perch in the end and managed a few nice fish biggest two being about 2lb and 37,8cm. We came second in the comp by 2cm and missed out on two pike but qualified for the final a week Saturday which is cool! It's a lovely little stretch of canal mate. Especially the closer you get to Leicester! Loved it! 👊🙌

Perch Finder TV I’ve had some great pike out off the K bridge end but it’s very snaggy so I’ve struggled with using trades with shrooms but will definitely having a go with the new shrimp pinks look awesome

I'm trying the cheb rig out atm, and i tend to get "alot" of grass/weed on the bullet head. so it aint "weedless". Do you find this problem aswell or do you have a solution for it ? :-)

How do you feel about the durability of your speed style? I bought the same one brand new on eBay from Japan this month and had it for less than a week and it broke the third time using it. I was throwing a mini 1/32 oz Texas rig and lightly set the hook on a 10 inch bass. It was 4 inches above the break apart piece on the tip section. I’m hoping the seller can get me a replacement tip from major craft but we’ll see how that goes

I've never had an issue with mine mate and I've had pike up to 22lb on it. It must have been damaged in transit or something! Hopefully they can sort you out mate! 👊🙌

I know you have a lot of knowledge on fishing and your vids are sick- but you’re gonna damage the eyes on your rod using them to hold your hooks like that- just a heads up
