The way she sounded really floored me, I'm not going to lie to you.. and the best part is, it doesn't sound gimmicky or too exaggerated. It's natural 😊 In Jarrod's case...I had no idea he sounded so similar to Sonny's voice and could actually be a better singer than Sonny himself was! 🤗
This song is so iconic to Sonny and Cher but they sing it so well without sounding like a gimmicky impression, I mean I can hear the love in Jarrods voice! It’s really well done theater.

There's nothing like the original. They were special people at a special time. Every episode of their TV show ended with this song. Every week there would be intentional differences in the tones and duration of the notes in the simple, familiar song. The body language and the facial expressions that they exchanged as they sang to each other always reflected the mood of that episodes particular story or theme. What made the show and the song really popular is that oftentimes you'd see reflections of what truly was going on in their real lives. It was such genuine entertainment. Now I think that I actually hate it when people try to cover/sing/steal this song. It's too unfortunate that nobody wishes to understand how personal the music and words really are. They don't deserve to use it as a means to promote themselves
To be fair, the Broadway show had Cher written all over it. It’s not like they stole it for self-promotion. It was a tribute, a full-on production in which Cher was heavily involved.
