Love that Murph made the whole show of "it could be anyone" but already decided it would be one of the NPCs lest one of the PCs accidentally throw the game and end it early.
This moment hits just as hard listening back because my sheer anticipation during Murph's lengthy pause fills me with so much glee I cannot even describe
My favorite take on this puzzle was in The Adventure Zone where a bad guy and an npc ally fall into a dark hole, but when they pull them up there are 2 allies. One of them begins rapidly describing themselves and their memories to convince the party that they’re the real one. After he’s done the party asks the other one his story and in the villain’s flouncy German accent he say, “Auhh! Noo I am ze reeel one!” They immediately push him back in the hole 😂
No, no, they also suggest that maybe he switched their voices, then when he spoke again to confirm this and started complimenting the magical prowess of the “imposter”, THAT’S when they kick him in and they had proven themselves the Riddle Masters
I was at work when I heard it for the first time and had to honestly take a step back. I was floored by how funny but also clever Emily is! That feeling will never happen again. It was euphoric and hilarious 😂
obsessed with how you can see the timestamps on the video bar, and then having the game explained to them is 80% of it, then there's just the dinky little 30 second "the game" timestamp wedged in there
