I wont be surprised if Taichi starts to hurt Chihaya. That rejection is so cold, imagine working yourself up, trying things that your crush likes, staying with her all the time and gives 100% support and someone for her to lean on, just to only end up getting rejected coldly. He almost lost all his motivation to live.

Vincent Cruz Taichi wasn't always there for her they lost touch after elementary school and reunited as teenagers , Chihaya just isn't one of those people who are smart when it comes to romance. Besides she can't help how she feels and if I'm honest I think Arata is the better choice Taichi has always acted like she was more of a possession then a person that type of relationship would be toxic. Plus Arata evens Chiyha out better and the chemistry was always there between them.

There is dense and there is not knowing. Taichi never voiced his feelings at this point - if she has no context, she cannot interprete his actions as that of his love. When he did confess, it was to hurt her with sth he knew she loved which was the sport. Yes Arata is there. But if Taichi wants to confess, he shouldn't bring Arata into the equation - it should be about what is between him and Chihaya. Bringing in Arata means he is comparing, and by comparing he has let Chihaya remember that Arata is there. Which is not what you want to do when you want a girl to think only of you.

@@victoriaokeke5819 some people think Arata is more brave to tell Chihaya First that he loves her. But his case is different from Taichi as Arata/Chihaya live apart hence there nothing to lose. But in Taichi case since he is with her almost everyday and has alot of memories with her, he is afraid he will lose chihaya if things don't work after telling her how he feel

I especially hate how the manga and anime just sweeps under the rug the fact that Taichi had a girlfriend he didn’t even love and was just leading on the entire time and treated with such disinterest. And then he breaks up with her through text like it was nothing. Also, Taichi isn’t clueless, he has to know that Sumire likes him. So basically, it’s okay for Taichi to friendzone Sumire and casually step on her ex-girlfriend’s feelings but not cool for clueless Chihaya to friendzone Taichi despite not knowing Taichi loves her in the first place because Taichi couldn’t muster the courage to tell her.

@@Ryu.86 They have always dreamt about becoming master and queen. Their dream is like almost the same.

I think Taichi's character was never about getting the girl, in my opinion he's character was about self growth and learning to love karuta, not just as a way to get closer to Chihaya but loving the game, the cards, the culture and the poems itself. As we all know, the story and its character revolves around karuta, its not about the romance, I think thats just a side genre to attract fans I guess😊. Chihaya grows as a character through karuta and she loves the game and the world that surrounds it. And for Aratavs character, I think its about leaving his grandpa's shadow and really play the game he and his grandpa loves in his own style.(Also my opinion😊) Chihaya and Arata both love the game genuinely and play for themselves, never for others. But Taichi's case is different, he didn't love karuta, I also actually thought he hated it because it is the connection that keeps Chihaya and Arata together. And I think he played it not for himself but for Chihaya and get closer to Chihaya. And love is a very complicated thing. It hurts, heals and give us joy at the same time. I really relate to Taichi, loving someone who doesn't feel the same way. But it doesn't mean that that person has and needs to reciprocate that love just because he deserves it. That's not love, that is force and its never good to force someone's feelings. So that's all I want to say😊. Please no hate. I really love Taichi but I also love Chihaya and Arata. They all have deserve happiness. All of them does.

Chihaya is pretty boring too, so maybe they are indeed made to be each other. This is a common thing in a harem, that you want to root for the best girl/boy, but if you think about it more, that best girl/boy actually deserve a better than the MC.
