There are a lot of retired people living in poverty. The reality that once you retire you have some kind of childlike existence I think is really just a pipe dream. And, even children who live in poverty know that they are suffering from want. Basically, money is always important to those who don't have access to it. I've never cared much about money, but now that I am looking at retirement it is more of a concern.
