Awesome looking board. Any opinions on how paris 180s would pair with the deck rather than 150s? Looking to buy a new cruiser but it would be easier to just swap out the gear I already have.

We've had a few riders test out the Chinchiller with 180mm trucks and they all tend to ride narrow, center set wheels. This is done to avoid the wheels sticking out too far so they don't accidentally kick them when pushing. They also tend to run their trucks softer overall to accommodate the wider trucks against the narrow board width. Hope this helps!

how does it compare to the basalt tesseract? looks like a fairly similar shape and size

The Chinchiller has a shorter wheelbase of 21" compared to the Tesseract's 24" wheelbase, making it feel much smaller all around. The biggest differences in terms of design are the smoothed out contours in the concave and nano-drop which provide comfortable and secure foot placement. The kicktails are overall shorter than the Basalt Tesseract making for a more compact board and significantly lighter weight. The Chinchiller has more flex than the Tesseract, however it is a very damp flex that doesn't rebound as much as a Tan Tien or Icarus, making for a comfortable yet stable ride.

Comet cruiser has a long lead time, and is narrower, and comes with TKP's instead of RKP's if you are comparing entire set ups. I personally think the Comet is a tad overhyped, but still a set up if you don't mind the wait. I don't think you'd be disappointed on either for what they are meant for, but I have one of these on the way for summer play time.
