TO: @Corina6235 Matthew was difficult to understand, especially for Simon (now Peter). I think it's awesome to see the compassion he himself possessed & was not aware; he was becoming more confident. I think Matthew deserves an AMEN! for being considerate of Mary. When she left the group due to her reaction the demon possessed man entered their camp, and she left, Simon treated Matthew like he didn't have even a clue of directions. But when Matthew took the time to comfort and encourage Mary to return, (and DID NOT THROW UP himself) while using his clothing to wipe her clean, then spoke of how she had uplifted others and had to prompt Simon to also encourage her. If there was a scene in this anything to learn about Matthew is how he has grown and learned from Jesus how to respond. Yeah, it was cute and thoughtful and a friendship that is solidly growing (as we'll see)...Respectfully, I want to add to your comment that it's beautiful you noted AND were brought to tears when he did that...Our Little Matthew is growing in Christ, and a confident, thoughtful man. Luke is perfect in the role and evidently has been preparing for much of his life. Looking forward to the rest of season four.

That's the thing I love most about this show! It has really helped me to better understand the humanity of both Jesus and the disciples. It reminds me even more that whatever battles I may face he faced as well. I often see comments about how many if the scenes aren't in the Bible, like what happened with Rahma, but those scenes don't bother me. They're just ad libs for content and entertainment, to draw the audience in. I understand that this is a TV series so I don't take everything literally. That said, the parts that are scripture I have found to be incredibly accurate. I don't believe it was ever their intention for people to believe every word and seen in the entire series is scripture. This is a wonderful show and I am thankful for it❤

I also feel in the last episode and this one, you can start to see something going on with Judas.

I wasn't sure it was stealing yet or the start of the rainy day fund except for how guilty he looked. Maybe at this point he's not exactly sure either? The portrayal does seem to indicate he believes this is the Messiah so I'm looking forward to the writers' interpretation of why he felt Jesus didn't know.

The surprise and wonder and vague guilty feeling that come with the first taste of the forbidden fruit, expressed beautifully by that musical note. As for what Jesus knew and didn't know, it's an interesting mix, in the show but also in the Gospels and in theological speculation ever since. We'll see how they write it!

you are right when you say that Jesus´answer to Martha has "always been read as a rebuke to her". But the tender way Jesus handles it in this scene, is oh so in character! Of course Jesus would have reacted the way the incredible writers of THE CHOSEN have so aptly portrayed it here!! Thank you Chosen creators!!!
