What is the Masterclass?
The Chris Wood Masterclass is an in-depth video interview hosted by DDB Founder, Geoff Chalmers. Over three hours of discussion, they unpack the music and double bass techniques of Chris Wood, exploring topics that include: bass technique, transcription, soloing, optimum performance, bass gear, and much more. Chris draws upon his years of experience playing in The Wood Brothers and Medeski Martin & Wood as well as with John Scofield, Marc Ribot, John Zorn, and many other legendary musicians. His unique approach to the bass will help you find your own voice on your musical journey. In addition to the discussion, there are numerous musical demonstrations and we have included detailed transcriptions so you can practice them at home.

This is awesome! Chris Wood is such a natural. Saw him sit in with Tedeschi Trucks Band several years back, and man...the groove just came alive all of a sudden. Nothing against the formidable player in the band, of course (he's also one of my (le)favs)

Awesome, I love Tim, great guy, but never been impressed with his playing, which might be his thing. I saw him with Wayne Krantz a few times which was awesome.

Chris Wood is so underrated so Im extremely glad to see this! MMW transformed modern "jazz-ish" bands so they need to be recognized.
