As it's Biblical we all have to follow likewise, but we have to give our life first to Christ by repenting of ur sins, confessing, forsaking and accepting Jesus as our Personal Saviour.
1robinsong2, I faced the same situation as what your facing, and I asked my pastor where do I stand here, he said it is true that wives are to be submissive to their husbands if it lines up with the Word of God, if it doesn't, you should stand with the Word of God, I know that this may cause a problem to your marriage, it did for me but I counted it joy that I was prosecuted for doing what God wanted me to do... One time, the phone rang and before I answered it, my husband said to me, "if it's for me, tell them I'm not here", I answered and sure enough the caller was asking for him, I knew that if I didn't do what he asked of me, all hell will break loose, knowing that I said to the caller "he's right here but he wants me to tell you he's not" lol I know it sounds funny but at the time it wasn't, but he knew that if I was willing to stand on the Word of God regardless of what he wants, he eventually stopped asking me to do things that go against the Word of God. Psalms 118:8 says, IT IS BETTER TO TRUST IN THE LORD THAN TO PUT CONFIDENCE IN MAN.... I pray that my reply helped you understand your question, I wanted to reply under your post but it's not allowing me, hope you get this reply, God bless you
Please let's be cautious how we interchange words. Submission is NOT the same thing as Subjection. Submission is a wilful compliance, while Subjection is an enforced compliance. A wife is to be in submission (wilful compliance with) to her husband. That's different from a slave, who lives in subjection (enforced authority) to the master. A master can treat his slave anyway he chooses. But I doubt if God intends for a husband to treat his wife anyway he chooses.
What is God's will for a Christian wife when the ungodly husband ORDERS her to do something that is unbiblical? I waited the entire message to hear him instruct for this common and very difficult situation but he said nothing about it. The Word says to submit to him "in everything." Does that mean for her to hold back from tithing if the husband tells her to? Does that mean to let the children watch evil movies if he tells her to? Does that mean to lie to your mother to protect his sin if he orders her to? Does that mean to stop going to church if he tells her to? A mean, backsliding husband will often order his wife to do such things. Then does God still want her to do what he says or stand against what he says?
I don't think comments are monitored here. I am sure he will answer your questions if you can go to their official website to find out how to contact him. You know some questions, such as the ones you mentioned are better treated in person. I have no doubt he had been asked such questions before in Q&A session at his church. But try to contact through their website. God bless you. PS: I just heard up to 50 minutes to the message, and he answered your questions. He used Eph 5:22 to explain it and that you obey as onto the Lord. As the Lord will not ask you to commit sin so should anything your husband asks you to do. You sure can disobey sinful activities demanded by your husband, according to Eph. 5:22 - as onto the Lord.
Thanks for ur response to the question ,am really eencouraged by it. Pls what is a sister whose husband does illegal business do when the husband has blatantly refused to let her work else do ?
+Tina Mike I would apply Eph 5:22 as well to the question you asked. If God will never ask you to do or participate in an illegal business you should refuse such participation at all costs. I don't know how strong such sister is in the Lord, but should make her stand known to the husband. Which one is wise to do, remain married as an accomplice to an illegal business and go to hell or denounce it firmly and lose the marriage, but go to heaven? Jesus said, “And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.” If the husband doesn't want to go to heaven, the wife can go alone by standing firm and refusing to be an accomplice in an illegal business. God bless you.
