It's hard to believe it actually happened even to this day. May they Rip 🙏 and will never be forgotten. I am from Limerick Ireland. Met John Aldridge in a Limerick pub in 2008 and shook his 👋 hand.😊
At the time that this video was created, Tony Bland was still alive albeit in a persistent vegetative state. Sadly he died a few years later to become the 96th victim. Fast forward to 2021 and Andrew Devine was added to the list as the 97th victim having lived for a further 32 years after the tragedy. May those two men and all those who died continue to Rest in Peace.
This is the day ... we all lost 96 family members ... I came home ... why not them ... I hate myself ... there was one fella who grabbed my hand .. and looked at me in my eyes and said sorry .. he let go of my hand ... I swear .. I wish I could find him ... to thank him for doing everything he could do ... who grabbed the hand of an Indian fella ... ??? if it was you ... please get in touch ... I have so much to thank you for ...
It is amazing. The Christians were excellent anyway and he delivered a great vocal on this record. Everyone did and the harmonising it first class. Paul McCartney really lets rip towards the end in a way that is quite different to his usual singing style it seems to me, although fans of The Beatles may disagree (this land's the place we love....) I must admit I don't know all of their work as well as some music fans do!
So sorry to hear that 😢. I was only 15 in April 1989 living in Iimerick Ireland. Its still hard to believe it happened even to this day.I met John Aldridge in a Limerick pub about 16 years ago doing a quiz. I will be 51 in June 6th this year😊.
Was there that day. Never thought in my life i would see dead people in rhose circumstances, but unfortunately i did. Always think of the 96. Never forgotten, always in our hearts. A tragedy of a human making. Go to watch what should have been a great football natch, but never came hone that day. Cried for them.
It's hard to believe it actually happened. May they rest 🙏 in peace. Even though I am from Limerick Ireland 🇮🇪. I was only 15 back in 1989 I remember being at home that day when it happened.
I'm old enough to have seen the match on telly live, but young enough to not understand why the game was stopped back in the day. Grew up a Man United fan, but some things transcend petty things like football. RIP to the 97 .
I’m a Man Utd fan,I know the two clubs don’t like each other but that’s football but when tragedy happens then we all come together as one,Rest In Eternal Peace 97 YNWA GGMU ❤️❤️
Enjoy ever day that you are alive and healthy. Do not worry about big jobs, houses and flash cars. Enjoy watching Soccer, Rugby and Hurling. I am from Limerick Ireland.
This was the tragic event that led to the Taylor report that stated that all football clubs were given a period of time to get their stadiums in order by installing seating and also removing penning in the supporters like we were cattle.
This hit from The Christians, Holly Johnson, Paul McCartney, Gerry Marsden & Stock Aitken Wateman was the 402nd #1 song in the United Kingdom of the Rock Era.
Today the fisrt time in donkeys I heard this song made me go cold and brought tears to my eyes I never forget seeing this sad day on TV. Soo sad xx rip soo much feeling into this song x
Still hard to believe it happened even to this day. I met John Aldridge and shook his ✋ hand in a pub in Limerick Ireland 🇮🇪 in 2008. He was doing a quiz. All those who died in Hillsborough 🙏 Rip.
I agree what a very special lady Anne Williams was. She fought tirelessly for the truth. Now reunited with her lad Kevin. Maxine Peake portrayed her brilliantly x RIP Anne, Kevin and the other 96 victims of Hillsborough x
Marc Blackie, You Will Never Walk Alone, Mate, I Will Always Be A Mighty Red For Life And This Will Always Be Your Song 2 Me Mate, I Miss U Every Single Day Mate, RIP My Mucker,
I was only 6 when this disaster happened but watched a documentary this evening with the families and friends of those lost, no words to describe how all those people must have felt, someone needs to take responsibility for that, it didn’t have to happen from what I’ve seen it should have been avoided
This Song Is A Tribute, 2 My Best Mate, Mark Blackie, Who Was Murdered, In Edinburgh In May 2006 Just A Few Hours, After Liverpool Won Th Fa Cup, Final, This 1 Is For U Marc My No 1 Scouser, I Miss U Like Th World Mate, Rip My Mucker,
So, I'll give it a try. I am not quite sure regarding the Christians (and they probably sang some lines in unison) and Geryy Marsden but certain about Holly Johnson and Paul McCartney's lines. Life goes on day after day [Gerry Marsden] Hearts torn in every way [Holly Johnson] So ferry cross the Mersey [Christians] Cause this land's the place I love [Christians] And here I'll stay [Christians] People they rush everywhere [Gerry Marsden?] Each with their own secret care [Gerry Marsden?] So ferry cross the Mersey [?] And always take me there [Gerry Marsden] The place I love [?] People around every corner [Holly Johnson] They seem to smile and say [Holly Johnson] We don't care what your name is boy [Holly Johnson] We'll never turn you away [Gerry Marsden?] So I'll continue to say [Christians?] Here I always will stay [Holly Johnson] So ferry cross the Mersey [Christians?] Cause this land's the place I love [Gerry Marsden] And here I'll stay [Gerry Marsden] Ohohoh [Paul McCartney or Holly Johnson?] Life goes on day after day [Christians?] Hearts torn in every way [Holly Johnson] So ferry cross the Mersey [Christians?] Cause this land's the place I love [Christians?] And here I'll stay [Christians?] Oh here I'll stay [Christians?] Here I'll stay [Christians?] This land's the place we love [Paul McCartney] Ferry cross the Mersey [Paul McCartney] Cause this land's the place we love [Paul McCartney] So ferry cross the Mersey [?] Cause this land's the place I love [Holly Johnson] And here I'll stay [Holly Johnson]
I'll never forgive that evil copper and Thatcher for what they said/did at the time and in the aftermath. I hope those fans who died are at peace and that their relatives find their own kind of peace. Thanks to those families, football is now safer (obviously, not all stadiums have remodelled ). Unfortunately, we live in a world that is reactive and not proactive.
This Song Now 2 Me Is Now Tribute 2 My Mate Marc Blackie, Who Was Murdered In 2006 After Liverpool Had Won Th FA Cup It Was Named Th Gerrard Final On Th 14th May Just After Midnight, In Edinburgh Outside His Flat Sadly Marc Was Stabbed I Miss Marc's Smile And His Personality, I Miss Him Every Single Day Marc Chould Always Cheer Me Up, Th Real True Guilty Are Still Walking Th Streets 2 And Are Not Behind Bars That Murderd Was Planned, Rip Marc My Mucker,
You’re not a soft ‘nana dude, you’re human and doing the same thing that any human would do. It’s such an emotional song considering. I always get emotional when I listen (heck, I’m crying whilst writing this)
Selbst in der kommunistischen DDR wurde mit Mitgefühl und Anteilnahme über dieses furchtbare Unglück berichtet. Selbst dort zeigte man Menschlichkeit. Ich kann mich noch gut daran erinnern.
The bit we're shanks raises his arms in triumph just gets me, am glad that shanks was never here to see hillsborough, the great man would of cried a river 😢😢
